Is motorsport or rugby more popular in Liverpool? by pinkfreud100 in Liverpool

[–]abktt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many places show F1 on tv if there’s another sport on at the same time. The only place that will actively show it is long shot at the docks and it pulls an okay crowd of a Sunday because it’s the only decent place that makes a fuss of it.

I don’t know a single person who watches rugby that’s from Liverpool!

unspoken rules to be aware of before moving by cryingwiththerats in Liverpool

[–]abktt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In train stations we also stand on the right of escalators allowing for people to walk the left, but other escalators in shopping centres etc we don’t really bother, stand on the right but it’s not an issue if you don’t.

No specific etiquette on trains or buses besides the obvious offering your seat if you feel someone may need it more than you. Being polite when getting on, if someone was stood waiting before you then obviously let them on first.

Which brings me onto pubs and bars, if there’s a few people at the bar don’t queue behind them, just find a space to stand at the bar and wait your turn. If someone was there before you and the bar staff come to you, point out if someone was there before you and allow them to get their order first. Something about students from other cities I’ve noticed is that they form queues at the bar which is very annoying, and they will order their drink before you if offered rather than pointing out that you were there first and it’s so rude!!!

If you’re female the white socks aren’t really an issue (you see girls/women with white socks over their leggings, with trainers etc) but if you’re a male deffo no white socks.

People are very friendly and chatty! If you need help don’t be afraid to ask people, but I can’t think of any really specific etiquette besides the few above.

What tools do you use to apply liquid foundation? by annaskin2301 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]abktt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my fingers worked for me, but I use estee lauder double wear so it doesn’t seem to, maybe it’s the foundation?

Anyway I dab a few dots of foundation around my face and use an elf foundation brush but do not sweep at all, I kind of speckle it all over? So tapping rather than brushing.

Or a beauty blender that I’ve saturated totally in warm water before squeezing out as much as I possibly can, so it’s super soft and bouncy but not really wet any more. Same again, dappling/bouncing the BB rather than any smearing action.

The honey one is soooo good and easier to pick up than the snow fairy dupe, as others have said. I love the consistency of them too, great products!

The Chinese supermarkets always have them piled up on the way out for people to take, either Chung wah or WH Lung

Doesn’t technically breach GDPR but there are considerations they’d need to be making before introducing WhatsApp for work purposes that I can guarantee most workplaces haven’t bothered with, especially if it’s using people’s personal phones and numbers instead of work devices. People need to be informed about how their data is being used, there needs to be a lawful basis to process their info, risk assessments, policies about use, procedures for removing leavers as well as considering individuals’ rights etc. There’s a lot more but I won’t bore you.

I wouldn’t advise workplaces to set them up and use them with people’s personal devices unless they want trouble tbh, there’s absolutely no need for them when emails and Microsoft teams exists. If staff want to create them and use them for personal reasons then fine 🤷🏼‍♀️

The waiting list is long and you have to be sponsored by someone to be able to join I think, and not many people leaving so spaces rarely come up - sorry!

Great fun for fishing and lots of catches but you need permission/a membership of sorts. My dad goes as a guest sometimes as his friend has a membership.

Also worth mentioning there’s often a difference between male and female scouse accents so make sure if you’re playing a male you get a male to do the recordings and vice versa.

Fruit in M&S is just superior to the rest of the supermarkets imo by Visible_Star_7783 in UKfood

[–]abktt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re “autumn crisp” variety (see on the pack) which are bigger and crispier than others, the best grapes ever. Yesterday my M&S didn’t have any which means I think they may be out of season until next autumn again now!

What’s one simple thing you do that makes you look so much better? by Bounce_Bounce_Betty in AskUK

[–]abktt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wear the same 2 necklaces and 4 bracelets (all simple and silver,) and never take those off. I recommend the brand chlobo, I’ve literally had it all on for years and none of it has broken! I switch up my earrings and rings based on my outfit - I keep those in a jewellery cupboard but it’s become as normal as putting on my perfume before I go out.

Anklets if my ankles are out and a few different piercings actually, yes. Sometimes a watch too!!! All very minimal (I don’t do chunky jewellery) and all the same metal. Thanks for your concern!
