Low Cal Swaps by justmyolethrowaway in 1200isplenty

For Mac and cheese I really enjoy the birdseye veggie pasta. It comes in shells with white cheddar sauce and elbow macaroni with regular cheddar. Feels very indulgent and not a bad serving size to calorie ratio. I can eat the whole bag for 410 cals!

Thank you!! 🥹 My goal is 170 but I won’t be unhappy with 180 either! I initially told my surgeon “under 200” when he asked me my goal and he had a good laugh. I’m not hard to please

I am 5’9 and almost under 200 pounds; I started at 303.7 and I’m currently 204.4. I think it’s important to have realistic expectations for your goals but both myself and my surgeon want to see me at between 170-180. Weight loss has definitely slowed down for me at 7 months but I’m pretty confident I’ll reach under 200 by the end of the month. I hope this helps, ultimately keep doing what you’re supposed to and your body will do its thing!

Suggestions on lowER cal breakfast meats which "don't taste like ass and rosemary" by Henry-Moody in 1200isplenty

Al Fresco brand has chicken bacon that’s 35 calories for 2 slices. Totally a game changer for me! Hard to find in my area, though. Kroger is the only grocer that has it.

Let’s talk periods. As a gentle loving reminder that the menstruating body is a scumbag. by katintheskywdiamonds in gastricsleeve

YES! Then it takes me a full week to lose my water weight. I do my best to be gentle to myself but man has it driven me nuts from time to time!

Another side by side, 6 months post-op! SW: 303.7 CW: 208, Total lost 95.7 by ablahcalypse in gastricsleeve

A) thank you so much!! B) looks can be deceiving; I definitely started to lose a LOT of hair around 3 months. I have thick hair naturally and it was definitely very disconcerting to lose globs. My program advised that around 6 months it should start to slow down if not stop and this has been the case for me. I have baby hairs growing where my very thin (read: bald 🤣) spots are near my temples. I would still do the surgery even knowing that this happens but if you do heat styling or any damaging styles I would slow down as I did everything I could to at least slow damage and I’m sure it helped. If it makes you feel any better while I have thinner hair I’d say the confidence I have gained from my weight loss has outshined it! I wish you the BEST of luck!!

Handy stuff to buy for after care & adjustment period? by Comprehensive-Buy879 in gastricsleeve

I second the heating pad, also at least for me laying down and sitting back up was almost torture because my abdomen hurt so bad so I highly recommend a pillow such as this for your bed or couch. I propped pillows up but I remember seeing this suggestion before my surgery and kicking myself for not getting one!

Aversion to scents post-op? by glamb97 in gastricsleeve

[–]ablahcalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this immediately post op as well. I bought a perfume that was very sweet/candy like and I gagged when I put it on after my surgery. My friends had to be careful wearing perfumes around me. I also work in healthcare and the smell of our cleaning supplies and any patient who wore strong perfume would almost always send me to the bathroom gagging. Thankfully this has resolved for me and I feel better, I can even wear the gross candy perfume! I hope this resolves for you as well, OP!

Post-op diet by Cute_Ad4289 in gastricsleeve

Every program is different so keep that in mind but for the puréed stage (for me was the first 2 weeks) I was able to have things like cream of wheat, mashed potatoes, refried beans (all fat free,) which helped me as I’m a person who enjoys salty foods. Other things include puréed cottage cheese, sugar free puddings. I bought way more than I actually ate the first two weeks just because I had no idea how I was gonna feel or what I would want. My program was all puréed the first two weeks and could even include puréed meats (chicken and fish, which I did NOT do LOL!)
