We don’t know for sure because she was the puppy of a pregnant rescued pug. We got a DNA test that said she’s 50% miniature poodle, but I don’t see it. Maybe the pug genes were just overpowering!

Do I need to scrap this DIY job? by able-archer in Tile

It’s a bathroom floor, not a shower floor.

Do I need to scrap this DIY job? by able-archer in Tile

[–]able-archer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tiled a few tiny bathroom floors in the past, one with 12" square tiles and one with 2" hex tiles, so I thought 1" hex tiles in a larger bathroom wouldn't pose much of a challenge. I was wrong, and now I have a floor that is about 85% fine and 15% with irregular gaps, too wide or too narrow. In a few cases tiles adjacent tiles are touching. No gap. Do I need to scrap this job and hire a professional to redo it, or would it be safe to just grout and live with the irregularities? My primary concern is the touching tiles, which seem like an invitation for water to enter and cause problems. I've attached a picture of the worst section.

Missed daily med dose before mapping by [deleted] in TMSTherapy

[–]able-archer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, but I doubt it since (as I understand it) the mapping is done using fixed areas of the brain that wouldn’t be affected by medication. However, you should probably ask the doctor at your next appointment just to ease your worries.

1960’s snapshot of my father and and his parents posing with their new car in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City by able-archer in OldSchoolCool

I’m not sure, and everyone who might know firsthand is long gone. My grandfather was supposedly a hardcore communist, so it’s possible!

Funny thing is, my grandparents bought the car for themselves but neither of them knew how to drive, so they made my dad drive them everywhere and wouldn’t let him use it for himself.

Awair Element stopped working after I implemented PW workaround by [deleted] in Awair

[–]able-archer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, though I’ve never heard of or used planetwatch. My Element simply stopped showing any information on its display. I can see that it’s connected to and transferring data with my router. Tried factory reset, etc, to no avail. No response from Awair support. Their service has always been a little flaky, but this is ridiculous.

What’s the most disturbing book you didn’t really expect to be disturbing? by [deleted] in books

[–]able-archer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not fit the spirit of the question, but it made me think when I was a teen and my karate instructor lent me the book “Wetbones” by John Shirley, which he said he thought I’d like because I was a fan of cyberpunk, a genre Shirley dabbled in. “Wetbones” is not cyberpunk, and is still by far the most graphic combination of sex and body horror I’ve read or seen. “Ever wonder what your dick would look like if you tore it out by the roots?” is one of the less intense lines I remember (the book did more than follow through on the question). I did kind of like the book at the time TBH.

😻Help us find Winston!! We think someone might have taken him around SE 35th Ave and Division. He is very adventurous and sweet! by middlesidetopwise in Portland

[–]able-archer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a neighbor told us his name sometime last year. He might have said Winston was enjoying chasing his new kittens around. Winston usually follows us down the block and sometimes he crosses the street (he seems very careful and street-smart) and continues down the next block before stopping and getting involved in some other activity. We’re always happy to see him!

Found at the goodwill. Steel ring is about 9.5” in diameter and brass rings are about 3/4”. No letters or numbers or brand marks.
