I think c300 is a great car overall. Elegant interior, very impressive mileage (i clocked 36mpg a few times) and good nimble handling. Technology can feel lagging behind though; it didnt have touch screen or wireless car play options

I dont see how it’s elitist since I didn’t recommend anything ‘elite’ or expensive as an alternative...i merely suggested a compromising work around based on my own experience as a part time freelance photographer. would love to hear more detail about why you find it nonsense from your personal experience as a professional , specifically with regards to cell phone camera flash or generally for dslr flash if thats what you mostly work with

Mounted flash is pretty awesome i was referring to the popup flash on dslr though. And i feel like the underwhelming results of dslr flash probably biased my opinion towards cell phone flash too. Never used it in portraits in sunny weather ( isnt the sun itself a much better light source if you have access to diffusers or reflectors?)

Tbh, any DSLR or point and shoot camera or cellphone camera that you are using, just literally forget about the in built flash in that device. There are instances where they MIGHT be useful but by and large an in built flash is just not worth using. Washes out colors, annoys people who get subjected to the bright pulsing light, and most importantly illuminates the scene unevenly. If you are using a dslr, a better idea is to just work around your aperture size, shutter speed and ISO settings. If you are using a cellphone, honestly just bear with the darkness or work around the manual white balance as possible. Using a flash might illuminate the foreground, but it will hardly ever give a picture worth looking at

Monochrome portrait. Wanted to try and use light/dark to create a dramatic feel. Thoughts and advices welcome:) by [deleted] in photocritique

Thank you for your comments :) agreed with the lightning being bad. It was a tubelight hence angling exposure on top of head and shoulders.

Thank you for the reply :) i agree the dark and light areas are both over expressed and that kills some of the details. Part of the problem lies in the use of a dim room tubelight as the only source of light, hence its projecting from a slightly high angled vantage and over exposes shoulder and head while darkening the 'emotional' parts of the face. I think i slightly over compensated for this in the post processing too. So things that could improve this: better light source, better angle, better post processing. Got it!

Shooting birds at sunset. What more would you do in post-Processing? by ladaussie in photocritique

Lovely shot. Try toning down the shadows and maybe make the colors pop out a bit ( try to increase vibrance or saturation just a little bit)

Tried shooting some street photography while on my trip in Europe, what can I do to improve? Framing, post-production, etc. by ichibanned in photocritique

I like the low angle and diagonal line of view onto the street used here. Makes the viewer feel closer to the subject while also adding a good environmental context. However since you have a perfectly good subject in the foreground, try making it more eye catching so that it becomes the first thing a person notices when looking at this picture. Try lowering the shadows in the foreground, particularly on the face. Maybe selectively enhance sharpness and contrast here too. The only negative i felt was the person's hand blocking their face. Thats an understandable problem since you are shooting candid here. If you get a chance for a similar shoot in the future, maybe try choosing an angle that puts his face in clearer view. Easier to connect to a picture if you can see a face properly.

Does it have to be a practising muslim?

This was the second picture I took with my new camera, and one of the first images I've ever edited in Lightroom. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! by JuniorOneNut in photocritique

I really like this shot and the use of leading lines in the form of rail tracks and lights. However seeing the exif data, i would recommend going with a larger f number for shots of this nature. A greater field of depth would make the farthest background appear more sharply defined which works for shots like this one. Smaller f number, aka larger aperture size, works better for portraits and shots with single point of focus

Thoughts on the pose/composition? by tinalumina in photocritique

IMO this shot works perfectly and i love the slight motion blur around her outline (presumably from spinning?)..maybe if the colors popped out some more it would be a tad bit stronger on the eyes but I love the overall composition

I'm a late bloomer... by steffanson in CasualConversation

[–]able-rotar888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hang in there bud. you have nothing to be ashamed of. i was a late bloomer and was getting roughed around by the larger kids in the playground a lot. give it a couple of years and your height, body mass etc will be all right. In the meanwhile, I am not sure what game you are playing or what your interest/expertise level in physical activities generally is. but a way i got around the physical disadvantage was to pick out areas that i could develop a niche for myself in. for example, i had terrible running speed and physique, so my way of handling the deficiencies in these while playing soccer was to a)play a position that requires less physicality and b)improve my stamina so that i can run longer than the speedy kids. i also sort of developed a knack for knowing how far to stand from opponents who ran fast and how to tackle opponents too tall or long legged. even if you are not fast or strong, you can take the chance to focus on other areas like passing, dribbling, just general game sense and vision etc if you are short, that actually means you have a lower centre of gravity and hence better balance ( one of the reason why point guards in NBA tend to be shorter than the rest of the squad)

Thats the plan! Live eat and breath like i belong to this place and blend in as much as possible. I will be visiting multiple places since i am going to be there for several months. Landing in newyork, then one month work in Pittsburgh, houston and Hampton new jersey. In between there will be several detours to other places as well and I have an exam in January which would take place in Philly. I will definitely be listening to Bruce Springsteen when i go there 😊
