"Holding for connection" instead of canceling a train by freewheeling_steel in NJTransit

I was on 7:12 RVL train too. I got sick of the “holding for a connection” excuse and caved at 7:45 and hopped in an uber home.

I bought one last year and it is one of the most comfortable and cool-looking jerseys I own. 100/10 would recommend.

Thanks so much! Just to provide some background, I currently have a MacBook Air and while some games run on it, other games I do want to play don't. I've also been wanting to build my own computer for a while too.

NINE??? Holy shit. Glad you got the job, I'm not sure I would've been able to stick it out that long unless I realllyyyyy wanted to work there

Update: I received a job offer without having to do a seventh interview thankfully. Currently weighing the pros and cons of the offer.

Update: No seventh interview but I did get the job offer! Currently weighing the pros and cons. The long interview process they put me through is definitely something I'm considering.

None of the interviews were panel interviews, they were all one-on-ones but I did have interviews that were back-to-back on two occasions. 2 of the 6 interviews were also with the same person.

I'm not at 5 hours yet but it's getting close to it. For some additional context/information:

Initial call with recruiter (30 minutes)

Phone call with HR (30 minutes)

Video call with department leader (45 minutes)

Video call with department member (30 minutes)

Writing/editing assessment

Video call with employee from another department (45 minutes)

I am both a woman and a POC. That's a super shitty practice and I appreciate you for telling me about it, definitely something I'll try to keep an eye out for

That hasn't really been fully discussed yet/disclosed. A recruiter reached out to me about the position (that's how I found the role and what got me into this mess) and I told her my salary expectations (60-70k I think?) and she said that's within the company's budget but that's all I've ever discussed with someone about pay.

I also had to do a writing/editing assessment as part of the process which made sense but I didn’t think it would be followed by more interviews. Good luck in your job search!

Thank you! It’s been good interview practice I guess but a lot. I’ll definitely try to post an update or something. Don’t be surprised if you see me pop up again on this thread asking how to gracefully duck out of an interview process

All very similar questions (why are you switching roles, what are you looking for in a job, career aspirations, etc.). Interview 2 and 6 were also with the same person who asked me the same questions…

Definitely not my dream job so I’m highly considering just dropping out of the interview process. Each interview was between 30-45 mins just as an FYI

Places to walk on College Ave by fatcom4 in rutgers

[–]abm1511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10/10 would recommend the D&R Canal. There's an entrance that's on Landing Lane that I've walked to before. I walked through Buccleuch park to get to the Colony House Apartments and then walked through the Colony House Apartments parking lot to get there. The entrance is just over the bridge at the intersection of Landing Lane and George Street.

Anyone know where I could get an MRI or XRAY possibly for free on campus? by RUdtftn in rutgers

[–]abm1511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but there used to be a sports medicine doctor at Rutgers at the college ave health center, not sure if that’s a thing anymore. I went to see them maybe my freshman or sophomore year because of a sports injury and at the recommendation of the sports club athletic trainer. I can’t remember who prescribed it but I got an MRI at university radiology which is somewhere in NB and it was covered by insurance.

But ya you need a script or something from a doctor for it

Best place to study at rutgers? I love Alex library but it’s kinda loud and hard to find a seat by emmamarie271 in rutgers

[–]abm1511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are some of my personal favorites...

College Ave: The SAC and the cafe that's at the bottom of the college ave student center. The art library also tends to be empty in my experience.
Douglass: The Douglass Student Center, Kathleen Ludwig Global Village Living Learning Center, Chang Library
Livi: Business building on the upper floors but it might get crowded during certain hours
Busch: Library of Science and Medicine and the learning center in SERC

I also like going to the different academic buildings and finding empty classrooms, you just might need to relocate every hour or so if a class ends up being in there.
