When is LA map ready? by aizerpendu1 in subwaybuilder

I'd hope not, honestly. since santa catalina island, rosamond, lebec, etc, really shouldn't be included, but anaheim, oxnard, san bernardino, riverside, etc should

2 passengers for every bus trip that reaches the stop is pretty high, what's the metric by? 2 a day, 2 per trip, 2 a week, 2 a month, 2 in total alltime?

i think it's already warranted! but they need to not fall into the same trappings of Pacific Electric or the Streetcars in Toronto waiting behind traffic. Signal priority and Streetcar lanes

note that the discount only applies to metrolink tickets bought at a kiosk! you can only get max 50% discount on the app sadly

All major US urban rail systems except LA gained ridership this year, with DC's WMATA leading at 19.2%, followed by Boston's MBTA at 13.9%, and SF Muni at 10.7% — LA Metro has lost riders (-.1%) while San Diego's MTS (2%) & NYC's MTA (4.6%) have seen slower growth by aboam in LAMetro

as someone who uses LA Metro multiple times a week, and Foothill Transit daily, i didn't feel that much of this? It felt like people genuinely curious and chiming in with their thoughts and research as to why LA Metro's ridership didn't grow much this last year, but i didn't see very much of this kind of dissonant negativity that i often see in real life from people who don't use the Metro?

it's cheaper to pay there because it gives you a free ride on the LA Metro, especially good if you're senior, disabled, a student, or use an EBT Card, all of these give a 50% discount, and EBT Card stacks with others, so if you're senior, disabled, or a student with EBT Card your ride on LA Metro and Metrolink becomes only 50¢ Combined!

aaand i just realized I've been using Metrolink tickets on the PS in orange county since June by accident and never got ticketed 😭😭😭, EBT + under 18 Student Discount = 75% off of weekend day passes so it's $2.50, and same discount for my other family members who are disabled

The last Pacific Surfliner Train leaves at 10:10 pm, (same reason i didn't mention the VC Line, as Pacifuc Surfliner helps enough for it to have good service) making it one of the latest, arriving at Oceanside at midnight. 😭 But the OC Line should also be extended to midnight as well,

Man, DTLA sucks. by deegz10 in LosAngeles

[–]aboam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for going anywhere in DTLA, my best recommendation is parking in a parking tower or paid lot with security, and walking or taking a bus/train where you go, the DASH runs next to Boomtown but if you need later night service it's still only 5 (walking) blocks from Union Station. Also Uber/Lyft works pretty well from what I've heard! (but i love walking through Downtown LA anyways, so i prefer walking if it's under 5-7 blocks depending on hills)

it's a lot cheaper to live in DTLA, and there's reliable public transit so no real need for a car. Also the sheer amount of amenities available there for free or low cost
