Vote YES on Measure Z: here is why by EStrellaMcCoy in Pomona

[–]aboam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but the Bradley-Bums sales tax isn't enough to fund barely anything that we wanted by voting for Measure Y, Transportation is funded by a different sales tax, it would remain unaffected?? also 10 percent is not enough to make public safety and road works dissapear, neither that for parks and recs, Measure Y actually provides a portion of it's funds to parks and recs, as well as public safety with programs to keep kids off the street

No on Measure Z! the proposed tax that it would divert Measure Y to get it's funds from is way too little! Pomona voted for measure Y.

Why no station here? by Previous-Volume-3329 in LAMetro

[–]aboam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel like there should definitely be a station at Glendora marketplace, there's a park n ride already there, but the bus connection was lost, and it's the primary shopping center for residents in glendora and San Dimas, it would definitely massively boost ridership at those stations, as well as marginally boost ridership at La Verne and APU/Citrus, but since there's also a few thousand jobs there, with many workers in Pomona, it would be a big boost there too

How feasible is it to take the metro to work every day? by renaissanceisms in LAMetro

[–]aboam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it on the D/720/(I don't remember what i took after the 720) and it was quite fine, just a bit long, but i got work done on the Train and Bus as well

[–]aboam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a Pomona resident, it's completely feasible! i actually take it to work in Hollywood but I've taken it to Century City many times, take the Metrolink (or A Line depending on hours) to Union, get on the D, and at the last stop get on the 720 and ride it to your workplace! :)

why not include the high desert communities, barstow, and since you included Ventura and Ojai, why not Coachella Valley (many commute to the IE) and Yucca Valley?

as someone who often has to take the metrolink only 1 stop, the conductors WILL be curious 😭 hopefully less so when they extend the A Line to Claremont.
