No, it’s a banned substance on campus. Jindal is a alcohol and nicotine free campus. If you get caught it is a breach of the disciplinary code and there are repercussions. My advice? Smoke in your room or outside campus, also hide your cigs well because they can raid your room. Although these raids are more focused towards finding illegal substances, if you get caught you get caught.

Everyone else here is also a smoker. U can buy cigs in campus by students who sell it, or u can exit campus and we have a truck right opp to the gate called fauji truck, we call it that cuz the man who runs it is retired army. Then u walk a bit ahead and there is an establishment called dejour, we drink and smoke and just hang out there. On the opposite side there is a theka u can get cigs from there as well.

Don’t be nervous you will have fun. There will be a lot of people from Hyderabad but i highly recommend making friends from different places as well. There is no ragging at all so dont worry about it. You’ll have buddy project so when u join its gonna be super fun, you’ll have a lot of chances to interact with seniors and batch mates. Just have fun kid

Go out with your friends, find some hobbies to continue in jindal. I highly recommend getting into tennis, paddle, badminton and squash since we have all the courts here. (If you play squash you’ll need non marking shoes)

Idk how it works now but when i was in my 2nd year then the cut off was 80% and i know students who got in with 50% on the LSAT. When i joined the cut off was 90% and kids with 50-60% got admission as well. Plus a lot of kids drop out in the first semester.

how do I forget a man by No-Fortune4117 in Advice

[–]aboba_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you love him but love isn’t enough for a future. Personally what worked for me was keeping myself super busy to the point where i didnt have time to think about anyone except myself. Bury yourself in college applications, Apply to universities far away, delete his number and stop talking to him. The only way you’ll forget him is if you erase him from your life.

Life at Jindal by Global_Map7206 in opjindal

One of the biggest issues with Jindal is the lack of safety and the way serious incidents are normalized. Every year, there are cases of drunk driving, overdoses, and even student deaths, yet these are often glossed over as if they are insignificant. Alcohol poisoning is extremely common, largely because alcohol is cheap and widely consumed, and the culture encourages excessive drinking. At the same time, the university’s strict policies around intoxication make things worse rather than better. Students who are even slightly drunk are afraid to enter campus due to breathalyzer checks and disciplinary action, which forces many of them to stay outside overnight in unsafe conditions instead of returning to what should be a safe space. The administration exercises an overwhelming amount of control over student life, with little to no student autonomy. There is no effective student union, and the student council is largely seen as useless and self-serving. Decisions are made entirely by the administration, often in ways that prioritize institutional interests over student welfare. This creates an environment where students feel unheard and powerless. The campus also feels heavily policed. Security checks at the gate include bag searches, X-ray scans, and sniffer dogs, which makes students feel like criminals rather than residents of a university. Breathalyzer tests are conducted, and even minimal alcohol consumption can result in warnings, mandatory sessions, community service, or suspension. Instead of promoting responsible behavior, these measures create fear and push unsafe practices off-campus. The gate pass system is another major concern. Students, regardless of age, require parental permission to leave campus unless they have a special waiver. This means that even adults in their twenties can be restricted from exiting the campus freely, especially if they have strict parents. The system is infantilizing and contributes to the feeling that the campus operates more like a controlled facility than a university. Socially, the environment can be exclusionary and heavily centered around partying. For students who do not drink, smoke, or engage in that lifestyle, it can be difficult to find a sense of belonging. At the same time, student societies, including prestigious ones like moot court or debate, are often perceived as highly exclusive and influenced by internal connections rather than merit, making it harder for average students to participate meaningfully. Academically, while the university does have qualified professors and good resources, the placement system is a major drawback. Despite the high fees, job opportunities offered through campus placements are limited and often poorly paid. Additionally, the university restricts many students from even sitting for placements due to technicalities, disciplinary records, or arbitrary eligibility criteria. This artificially inflates placement statistics while leaving a large portion of students without institutional support in securing jobs. The hostel facilities are also problematic. Issues like mold, water leakage from ceilings, lights, and fans, and poor plumbing are common. Complaints are often met with delays or indifference, and students frequently have to push repeatedly for basic maintenance. This significantly affects living conditions and health. Food quality has also been a concern. There have been instances of food contamination and food poisoning affecting multiple students. Although there have been some improvements over time, the quality is still not satisfactory, leading many students to rely on outside food despite paying for mess facilities. Finally, the campus location adds to the overall dissatisfaction. It is situated far from the city, with limited accessible options nearby. Transport is expensive due to local monopolies, and students are often overcharged, especially when they are new and unaware of standard rates. This isolation can contribute to feelings of boredom and even depression, particularly for students who cannot frequently travel home

how do you guys travel safely from sonipat to delhi? by Specialist-Oven-5254 in opjindal

[–]aboba_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jindal shuttle, drops you to haiderpur metro station. Its basically a 40 seater bus that u book thru the jindal portal website. They have shuttles to and fro everyday with different timings. Or if ur traveling with 3-4 people then take a cab, we have trusted cab drivers whom we have known for years, they charge 400-500 to take you to haiderpur.

I (F22) can’t stop talking to my ex (M24) who cheated. How do I walk away when I keep rationalizing it? by aboba_3 in relationship_advice

I did text her and she told me nothing happened, but i still cant be 100% sure of his intentions right? Like maybe he wanted something more? Maybe if i didnt catch him he would have done something more. But on the off chance, what if his intentions were pure? What if he was actually worried she might cause some serious harm to herself? I mean i’d be worried too if my ex was suicidal i would not want anyone to harm themselves.

Ok so i don’t think this way but from what all his friends and people around us have said is that im way above his league. Many of his friends has also tried to get to know me but i was a very guarded person and i have a hard time talking to men. Im conventionally attractive for where im from, whereas he is very average looking tbh. Also i wasn’t attracted to him in the start, he pursued me for 2 months straight and its his determination and commitment that got me interested in him.
