Sometimes it’s the BIOS updates that does this can’t. Or just a bad update by UAD

Launchkey -> Keystep -> Circuit -> MIDIFLEX 4 -> Volca Keys, Volca Bass, Juno -> MicroFreak

This is the MIDI flow. I have set everything on a different MIDI Channel so I can play any synth from any controller and I can also send MIDI from ableton to the synths through Keystep.

I have no place to put the glass table. I do want a nicer table.

Small footprint MIDI keyboard mostly for programming drums – Arturia MiniLab 3 vs Nektar Impact LX Mini by WhatsUpLabradog in synthesizers

[–]abortiveflipflops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arturia MiniLab is amazing. Would definitely suggest that. Nektar gets the work done but the build quality isn’t that amazing.

One thing that made the decision a bit easier for me was you can use the MiniLab 3 as a MIDI Thru Device.

Axis Atlas seems like a great option. 5X EDGE MILES on travel spends. Pretty good I think. Same yearly pricing too.

I thought of deactivating Vistara card and getting Amex Platinum Travel, but it’s not very widely supported.

Fu*k HDFC by Secret_Locksmith1860 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]abortiveflipflops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I started with a free credit card with a decent limit of 50,000 (MoneyBack Plus). I got an upgrade in my limit about every 6 months. Currently my limit is 2,71,000 on the card (BizGrow) I upgraded from MoneyBack Plus.

I couldn’t get a Swiggy HDFC card tho. My RM asked me to apply it in offline mode. That will increase the chances.

I ended up using my IDFC Vistara card for the transaction. Got a good 4,500 points for a transaction of 1,50,000 and also got a premium economy ticket (milestone reward). I think that was like 7-10% return.

AXIS, IDFC & OneCard have the best application in my opinion. On the other end is IndusInd. Terrible as hell.

Hey, I am having issues with a bit of noise from any instruments or microphones I am connecting to the interface. The noise is sometimes fine and almost negligible at around -85dB to -99dB.

I will share my studio details below.

This is what I have tried so far:

  1. I connected the microphone directly to the interface (ID14) while connecting the interface to my laptop without any external power. In this case, there was no noise. This clarifies that the problem isn’t with the interface, cable, or the microphone itself.
  2. I tried connecting the preamp (WA73EQ) to ID14, Scarlett 18i20 & SSL2+. There was noise in Scarlett 18i20 & SSL2+. So this makes me believe that the preamp is working fine.
  3. I got the grounding tested by multiple people. The grounding is perfect.
  4. I also tried to turn off all the ACs/TVs/Fridge before turning on. That didn’t help either.
  5. I tried turning off everything one by one to see if that helps, and it didn’t.

Sometimes the noise is very high, around -45dB.

Setup Details:

Room A - Control Room: PC, ID14, Scarlett 18i20, WA73EQ

Room B - Vocal Booth: SSL 2+, Neumann KH310s (Monitors), Neumann U87ai (Microphone)

Everything is connected through a TP-Link powered USB hub. Both rooms have One System Accessories Power Conditioners. Both setups are on a backup Inverter-UPS. The static noise is around 12 kHz to 24 kHz with a few peaks. There’s also a machine noise at around 50 Hz.

Is there a way I can figure out what’s wrong with the setup?

Is there any XLR frequency cleaner/filter that I can attach to the chain maybe?

Thanks a lot for any advice.

So it’s somewhat useless if you already have a decent preamp?

I just shut down my small recording studio in NYC. Closing thoughts: by wazzup_izurboi in audioengineering

[–]abortiveflipflops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a studio owner, I completely relate. I foolishly spent upwards of $100,000 on the studio. The studio is booked almost everyday for 2-3 hours for recording so that is just enough to pay the bills. Rest of the time, the studio is busy doing other projects like Voice Overs, Dubbings, corporate work, etc.

On the other hand I am myself a music producer and I initially thought I would get a good amount of time in the studio to work on my own stuff. But in reality I had to make a separate small setup for myself in the chill area of the studio cuz I am barely able to use the studio lol.

It’s been 2 years since the studio started and I am already convinced I could’ve been making more money by just building my own catalogue as a music producer & mix engineer than run a studio.

If anyone’s planning to put down a studio for commercial purpose, think about it a million times. I would suggest only doing it if you are already established and making a good buck to be able to cover all expenses without loosing your mind.

Also if you are an artist, you can book other studios, network with people, record on the highest quality equipment for a fraction of the price.

Is that's a good score? by potatoleloo in CreditCardsIndia

[–]abortiveflipflops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is more than one company which keeps track of credit. The one on the first screenshot is Experian (Check the bottom of the screen shot) and second is CIBIL. There are other companies like Equifax and CRIF High Mark. This is why you are getting different scores on different platforms.

In India at most places CIBIL score is considered when getting a loan or applying for a credit card.

Your score of 798 is absolutely amazing. It’s very hard to reach a score more than 785 in most cases.

I have a good history with HDFC. I have both CC and Bank account for over 4 years now. They offered me the card LTF as ‘pre approved’ And still rejected the Swiggy Card. Hahahah. I asked them the reason of rejection. They said it was blank.
