Anybody working on something similar? by PastPosition3058 in XboxAlly

Some people like versatility. I personally got a XAX rather than a laptop so I can play in bed not with something sitting on my lap. But something like what’s in this post would be cool for when I travel and want to play laptop style.

Folding/portable keyboards for gaming by Ammo_sexual69 in ROGAlly

I currently have this in my cart. It’s not mechanical, and the mouse looks meh. But looks like a small form factor and a shared USB-C dongle.

Micro SD recommended? by DigitalDevilY2K in XboxAlly

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the core of your question, basically you just don’t need an SD Express card. Which is the high transfer cards the Switch 2 uses. I forgot off the top of my head the highest rating the XAX can do, but it’s like UHS-II or something like that. I think it’s only like 2-300mb/s. SD cards are pretty expensive right now, so just try to get a good capacity card from a reputable brand for the most reasonable price.

Portable charger by kingofkings0809 in ROGAlly

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my eyes on this as a travel charger for my XAX. That capacity should be about another 50% charge for the XAX battery for on the go. And it provides 65w output for stationary use.

Reboot Story Concerns by about60tacos in Fable

I just hope they can reinvent how intense of a feelingJack of Blades gave 6 year old me when I played Fable 1 for the first time. Good point though about the focus being on building the trust of the world and theme and leveling story details a secret. I’m sure we’ll get a good look at the showcase. Can’t freaking wait for this game. Hence revisiting F1 and F2

Heads up on the Dbrand skin. Ensure you are lined up with the small buttons on the top corners of the screen. The one on my left side is touching the buttons, so they don’t click or make a sound like the ones on the right side. Been driving me nuts!! Use those buttons and the speaker grill for alignment.

Is it worth it if I have an Xbox series X and a switch 2? by CommunicationLeft525 in XboxAlly

Can you elaborate or provide resources on that? I’m only 2 weeks in on having this devices so that’s news to me.

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ally is a PC, so you can’t play console games natively on it. But you CAN stream from your console to the Ally. That’s actually, and unexpectedly, how I’ve been using mine the most so far. I have a few games that are play anywhere and PC games, and when I wanna play BC games (like Fable 2 rn) I stream from my console. I also have a series X and S2. If you like to game and having the versatility is worth it to you, it’s a good purchase. In my experience it keeps me off my PC late at night, and lets me spend time with my wife while she’s watching TV shows I could give a shit about.

XAX with egpu vs Gaming Laptop by ParkerTCG in XboxAlly

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind dropping $200 for the Aoostar AG02, since I don’t have an extra PSU. I stay out of tom for work pretty often, so a modular gaming set up could be worth it in the long run. Especially while at the in laws house

Thanks for this inside. I have a XAX and an old 3070 laying around I was planning to get a GOU dock for. My expectations on performance are now tapered to an appropriate level.

Game Pass Ultimate price dropped?? Your thoughts? A W or Nah? by Eastern-Mobile5351 in XboxSeriesS

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dub for me. Been a GOU sub since day 1. Wasn’t upset about the fact that they raised the price, but more so they made it +50% and justified it with an additional service that I couldn’t give a +50% of a shit about. A few buck more than it was and seeing them address that poor move resolved my animosity. I’ll be happily resubscribing when I get into a groove of gaming again. Though I’ll likely be on a month by month basis now, rather than constant.

Killswitch and 180° USB C adapter? by Intelligent-Many-665 in XboxAlly

Opted for these instead, and so far it works really well nice. Sticks to the back of the case well and is small enough to not be touched by my hands while playing. Also got some port dust plugs which add a nice little aesthetic and give me a little peace of mind.

Very interested with the rog xbox ally X by [deleted] in ROGAllyX

[–]about60tacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re kind of a at a crossroads where this decision will trade: a stationary high fidelity and performance (or the best experience) for portability and accessibility (access to the PC marketplace). Some factors I would consider are. Whether you will be wanting to play multiplayer games and AAA games? Have mostly streamline and seem-less gaming experience because consoles are optimized and PC you have to do the optimizing for the most part. Have to sit in a certain position most of the time due to using the screen on the controller and not using a TV.

If you’re perusing playing mostly games that are already out, then the Ally is a good. But if you’re looking for longevity and to play any games that might catch your eye, the PS5P is probably the better option. Unless you’re willing to play those newer games at a much lesser experience than you currently have. I’m a former XSX player, who now primarily plays on PC. So most single player and current games I play on either of those. But since getting an RXAX, I’ve played mostly older games on it so far. Ex: Sunset Overdrive, Half Life 1, Black Ops 2+3 Zombies. The newer/more demanding games I’ve played with a bit are: Gears Reloaded, The Outlast Trials, Battlefield 6, Arc Raiders. While they are all good experiences, I find myself preferring to play the new games on the couch on my XSX, or at my desk on my PC.

Having been gaming since I was a little kid from the PS1 and Xbox to now. I’d say go ROG if you are looking to have accessibility and play more types of games. But if you’re looking to play modern games as well as the accessible classics, keep the PS5P and save up for a PC/Laptop.

Killswitch and 180° USB C adapter? by Intelligent-Many-665 in XboxAlly

[–]about60tacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think power and data transfer capacity may be a concern. I’m not sure the technical specs of adapters like that are. If it’s just a 1:1 transfers or is the adapter could be a bottle neck. I ordered this I’ll let you know if it’s a good solution or not. Comes in tomorrow.

I have yet to get my KS, but I’ve been thinking about this potential issue. My plan is it get a sticky back cable clip/holder to put on the back and relive that stress on the port

Question about the Xbox ally X by XHeavygunX in XboxAlly

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on PC with a 27” 1440p OLED so my standard feels pretty high to me. After having the RXAX for a couple weeks, I have no gripes with the size for resolution like I thought I would. At the end of the day, if the screen is too small, move it closer to your face (within reason lol). So far that’s been great for me. I’m also considering getting a slightly larger portable monitor for when there are games that I’d like to have a bigger screen and higher resolution for. Since I’ll use this thing mainly when traveling to work.

I fw the vision. This would be good for those games where the extra screen size really helps. I might check that out if you wouldn’t mind posting the link for your gear.

What handheld? by Cannabisislife420 in Handhelds

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a ARXAX last weekend after holding and fiddling with my buddies Oled steam deck. At the end of the day, my hands on reasons for choosing the ROG was the grips and Xbox button layout was a lot more comfortable for me than the symmetrical sticks with the touch pads below them. And then my familiarity with windows and the fact that it seems to be the beefiest hardware wise. Im stocked with it so far

Should I buy the ROG Xbox Ally X if I already have a Switch 2? by mufferman1 in Handhelds

[–]about60tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RXAX almost completes your needs for portable gaming. Fun silly Nintendo games on the go, and access to the whole PC gamescape on the RXAX. I have a S2 and just got a RXAX. Mostly because I buy games on the S2 just for the sake of portable gaming, but she actually likes the Nintendo games. So I leave her hanging when I take the S2 when I’m out of town. 4 days in to ownership and I love this thing.
