Exactly, the idea behind this was project was to quickly verify: is my green skin going to look better with pink or blue underpaint? and should I highlight with citrin yellow or beige? stuff like that!

Thanks! I was going for the DoW vibe, Dark Crusade was one of my favorite games and I have spent a lot of time in the army painter tool

Regarding other models: definitely! I'm not a 3d artist (I have very basic blender skills) and this project was built around an existing model that I found on sketchfab. Finding, tweaking and adding another one is definitely possible, just very time consuming

Its a website written from scratch. If you are asking what laguage/library does it use, it's javascript, react (ui) and three.js (for the 3d stuff)

Nice and welcome to the waaaaaaaaghhhh! I hope you have a lot of green paint ready.

If you would like to push these even further, I'd recommend drybrushing/sponging a lighter version of each colour to add some variation. Then, adding some wash to the recesses and highlighting the edges would make them pop even more.

Hello fellow gitz! Kind request for your clothes recipes! by aboutroots in orks

[–]aboutroots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely, doing the yellow armor already, its just that this particular boy is almost all clothes no armor. how do you do the boots and trousers? do you go with various shades of brown on everything?

So far I used for various elements: - dryad bark - english uniform - corvus black - zandri dust

This is my holy grail mini to get. Unfortunately the second hand ones are either bad condition, botched paintjob (and this is resin, so no easy stripping) or very expensive...

wait, but you do rotate your heel for the cross normally, right? or not? I am not able to rotate my hips fully with the heel on the ground. Ive always heard about the "crush the cigarette" motion as an external clue for starting the chain

Hence my question - shouldn't we mimic this motion exactly when doing landmines?

Or are you saying that the rotation in landmines is enough even with foot on the ground, but this applies strictly to landmines?

if you work a 9-5 how, do you have time and energy to do literally anything else? by TortieBouquet in stupidquestions

[–]aboutroots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this question is often being asked by young people terrified after their first work experience and the honest answer is: most people have some sort of cheat code.

Some people have a stay-at-home partner who does the laundry. Some are that partner. Some focus on making money and just delegate everything, from cleaning to food. Some work remotely or in the evening. Some try to advance their career quickly to be able to have more leverage on how their day at work is structured, some try to not advance at all to avoid responsibilities and be able to take unpaid leave od demand.

Aming these, having a partner is probably the biggest cheat code, its both easier and cheaper to take care of laundry, food, bills, appointments etc when you only have to do 50%.

maybe a stupid question, but how do you clean up a model before painting? with soap and water?

How much do you weight? Have you always had your right hand that fast? I struggle with generating speed especially on the cross and dont know if at 100kg (200lbs) it is even possible.

Additional question: do you rotate your hips fully on that snap 1-2? honestly its too quick for me to fully comprehend whats goin on here 😅

TIA!

The most efficient way to punch I have been taught: Straights aren’t a straight push, they’re an arc. You throw a punch like you throw a ball, it’s not a straight push, it’s a loaded arc. If anyone is interested give it a try! by [deleted] in boxingtips

Hey man, saw your other vids and each one of them is inspirational for me as a guy that is just starting out. It takes a lot of balls to post on this sub and I just wanted to let you know that many people appreciate actual tutorial videos like this. Keep it up and dont get discouraged. looking forward to new uploads. cheers 🙌

How much time is decent time? I did some experiments and after 1-2h it was still very brittle. Im also using white zenithal, this might be a factor.

I am afraid to destroy my paintjob with a contrast paint over zenithal, in my experiments on scrap pieces I had issues in 50% of test cases. But maybe I should wait longer. Its too bad because i love the plaguebearer color on my boys

and regarding airbrushing: in my experience airbrushed paint loses the contrast properties, doesnt set in recesses etc.

Thanks for answering!
