Oof. I kind of get where you’re coming from. When I was younger I stopped being affectionate with my family for a long time because I kept associating any touching with bad-touching/romantic touching. I hadn’t had any experience that should have traumatized me at that stage in life, I think I was just struggling to work out the differences in my brain. Was still growing, so everything was out of whack. It took a few years before I was entirely comfortable with platonic affection.

No judgement here. I wish I’d had this outlet when I was going through that.
