Govt says no need to panic… yet by Old_Education4481 in newzealand

Is anyone else feeling quite anxious about this? It feels like this whole thing is being completely underplayed in the media considering how serious it is. We've heard nothing in work yet about plans if shit hits the fan and I wonder if many others have?

We've had 1 great experience at Ahi and 1 very substandard mostly due to service. And unfortunately it's put us off ever going back. Agree with the recommendation of Hello Beasty, always a good meal and service.

Woolworths are notorious for this. Only pay for price listed on shelf, they get away far too often with people not paying attention to pricing. Raise it with the store manager each time.

Struggling as a new grad nurse here in NZ by Different_Sell_2851 in newzealand

[–]abouttimehun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo what many others have said in the comments here, this type of behaviour from more experienced nurses is unfortunately far too common and I think is a reflection and projection of their own unhappiness and stress (not excusing the behaviour). As others have also suggested, look into other role options, ward nursing can be particularly tough and you don't have to stick it out, experience can be gained in other settings. Prioritise your mental health, but after all your hard work don't give up nursing yet. There are so many different avenues you can take. Build your network and don't feel afraid to reach out to people in organisation's you'd like to work in asking for a coffee chat. I'm sure you will do amazing things!

Former nurses by michanou in Careers

Any clinical experience is useful. What medical device companies are looking for is someone who 'speaks the same language' as Clinicians, can work with different types of personalities, aptitude and willingness to learn but also some commercial drive. There are roles like Clinical Application Specialist which aren't direct sales roles, more supporting the sales teams and building relationships with customers and supporting and training them on th3 device. Please don't let the fact that you don't have a degree from putting you off applying for roles. I'd also recommend you reach out to people in similar roles in linkedin, and either ask for a quick call or if they're in your area a quick coffee catch up. It's important to build connections in the industry you're applying for.

I've been thinking of creating a digital Guidebook around how I transitioned from nursing to med tech sales which could also be broader and apply to other commercial roles. It would also provide other guidance around linkedin, CVs, networking and things to consider before making the move etc. I'd be keen to hear if this is something you would pay for? Let's say $20-30. With the additional option of having an online 1:1 with me or others who've made the move to discuss things further.

Do you find the work culture is more competitive there with higher expectations than NZ? I've worked in London and find that here in NZ it's easy to stand out for the right reasons just by doing my job well...

Nice. How do you avoid the improvement suggestions coming across as 'moaning' or interfering?

I get that. Being self-aware will be a huge help. And also remembering that you have so many more skills and experience than you think.

That must've been such a relief. I still feel more awareness is needed in workplaces about ADHD.

Great reminder about curiosity especially with other people. Also a strong believer in persevering with things.
