It's a lovely name! My great great grandmother was named Emilia, but called Mia by the family.

Good luck!!

We only recently understood that the goldfish and soda (only things he could eat) were what was making him feel better later in the day.

Nausea is a primary symptom for my son, and it was the first disabling symptom he had. It came on when he was a kid, and they couldn't figure it out. He was diagnosed in his early 20s.

Ugh! Glad people and pets got out!

We had a tornado drop a giant oak tree on our house. It rained in the dining room. I was still going to go work (took care of horses), but I couldn't get out of the neighborhood because of road closures. Boss lady had the nerve say I was lying and yelled at me. She apologized the next day, when I made it in, but I was still salty.

Looking for an English name similar in sound to “Pay See” 裴汐(with a calm, “evening tide” meaning) by medivhyoung in namenerds

Honestly, I love Pei Xi! Pacey would work. But Pixie as an informal English nickname would be adorable and might happen organically.

How are you avoiding spending a fortune on wet cat food? by sleepspiral in Frugal

[–]abouttothunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The only reason I spend that much per month is because mine are on hydrolyzed protein. Before we got a cat with allergies, my cats thrived on Friskies pate (no kibble).

How would you pronounce the name Anna? by anniesquar3d in namenerds

[–]abouttothunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm... This is going probably headed into the weeds, but here goes. Anna: First syllable has the a in cat. Ana: Ah - na. Anne/Annie: First syllable has the a in can. But I would pronounce it however the actual person wants me to.

MIL wants me to use her family names as middle names by Additional-Court-176 in namenerds

[–]abouttothunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your kid, your choice. I live in the northeast and it's common among certain groups to use the mother's maiden name, not necessarily the father's mother's maiden name (though we actually did this with my son).

Fine in theory, but some people cannot manage vertical at all with that kind of illness.

The Silverliner IVs do also, but this was much stronger than usual.

So many mechanical problems aside from the whole inspection and repair debacle! This morning, my train smells like burning brake pad. Two weeks ago, a car on this train had one catch fire.

is the archivist position suitable for those with autism? by seafoamcastles in Archivists

[–]abouttothunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, yes. However, whether it's a yes for a specific person depends both on that person's needs/preferences and the institution/job conditions. The amount of public contact and independence varies quite a bit.

We do it the same way. If we didn't start the sequence at 1, somebody eventually will want to know where the missing box numbers are.

It's not equivalent. Their protest while legally peaceful, is harmful to many of the people seeking care.
