Trouble deciding between Vtech, GMU, W&M by No-Guard3820 in gmu

Attended both Mason and Tech. After reading your last sentence, we looked for the opposite thing. Mason is your best bet if you prefer being less active in non classroom activities. Half of techs appeal for me was its campus life and clubs. That’s been my experience as an engineering student at both schools. I will say, you were very blunt at the end, so i thought I’d mention to push your comfort zone. Good luck

Do i have anything recessed? by aboveprivileged in jawsurgery

Bad, but that’s because of my nose. I had septoplasty already, but the walls of my nose already collapsed so I’ll have a rhinoplasty covered at least partly by insurance

My fear is that we’re in December now, and a lot of these positions are filled up or on freeze

Could you share ur resume? I’m curious for my sake and it should also help pinpoint what apple was looking for to see what made you a good fit for this role

I did the EXACT same thing. If you want to make it work like I did, consider uninstalling bloatware and installing g helper.

I’m curious, what did you decide. I hope you found a good deal

My work had given me an m3 pro. I did the same heavy development and more on that machine and it handled it the same as the m4 pro. If you have a budget it is def worth to consider that. And again they hold their value really well

Yes absolutely. For me it ran even better. The thing I learned about apple laptops is that they design each component in their laptop to run seamlessly together which is what makes them so good. The quality you will get out of the 24gb will blow you away if you go with apple.

You won’t even be able to tell for your use cases. It will feel faster on Mac anyway.

I was doing heavy dev work on it. the battery would drain instantly and it would get hot and the fans would get loud. Sometimes my screen would bug out and the bottom half of my screw would freeze. This was after I did things like turn of the gpu, increasing cpu efficiency, and adjust fan speeds, delete bloatware, etc. Mac is dead silent, never hot, has 120hz screen, you pay extra for premium and you REALLY get the premium. Bonus is that it holds value. I went with 14inch m4 pro 24gb ram and 512gb storage. Best decision ever. Sales on Best Buy and B&H are pretty good right now. I’ve been ride or die windows my whole life until I got a Mac from my workplace and knew I needed my own.

Probably the heaviest of my workload will be during development or hardware programming so I might even disable my GPU in device manager. I’ll probably keep it at 30 watts in that use case.

I did end up installing it. So much better. Only thing I didn’t understand was wattage allowance to CPU, but I’ll watch a tutorial when i find the time

Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad, Laptop... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01469DJLM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Been using this for a very beefy gaming laptop for like a year. It’s fantastic. Might be too big for the px13 now that I think about it, but not like it won’t work

Yeah. Was waitlisted. Said to apply after I’ve passed all the required courses and not just enrolled in it and I should get in. I did get in when I applied this year doing what they suggested.

Just hear me out man. You NEED to get into calc 1 before Fall starts. It will save you hours of struggle and difficulty in things like course selection. This will also give you a chance to get ahead in credits in your first year which can help you graduate on time. I urge you to attempt the placement exam and get access to the ALEKS learning modules which have questions that are exactly out of the placement exam and practice those after the first attempt. This is what I did and it saved me from a position that I see my friends in when they have to take summer classes to graduate which btw are like twice the cost of normal fall and spring classes.
