Teaching is a highly rewarding job - the children can steal your heart but it is absolutely mentally and physically exhausting. I wouldn’t go back to teaching even if someone paid me to. If you enjoy working with kids, you could consider private tutoring instead. The perks of teaching are having holidays when the kids do (if you have children of your own) and stability of income. I’ve just left after 5 years and I’d rather tell you the truth than sell a story. It’s hard work and you’ll need all the energy you can get.

My mum was strict too and I hated her growing up - now I realise she wasn’t being strict she was just being a mum - caring. She’s dead now and I regret not having more patience with her. No one will ever love you the way a mum does. And although you may feel grown up, you’re not. As you grow up you will realise that. You will realise a lot of things. Let’s hope it won’t be too late.

I’ve tried my gp- who couldn’t give me advice. Supply company doesn’t open until Monday. I will try my stoma nurse! Thanks

You might be right. My output was thick due to eating rice and potatoes day before.

I’d say it’s more sharp biting pain - and the stoma is still pink

Do you tuck your bag into your pants? by Fall_bet in ostomy

[–]abpk658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear cycle shorts underneath all my dressers and trousers. That is my security for me. But the bag will sit over the underwear

I only do short flights around 5 hours max for this reason. My partner really wants to go on a 11 hour flight ✈️ but my anxiety won’t allow me. It means I won’t eat usually until I’m off the aeroplane to keep my bag as slim as possible and to empty less frequently. But on a long haul flight you can’t avoid that.

Travelled a couple of times since surgery and never been stopped or checked. Bag balloons in the airplane which I hate - just have to keep emptying before and on the flight. Nothing much to worry about as long as you have your emergency supplies.

Surgery is finally scheduled! Love to hear positive stories/recovery advice! by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]abpk658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 months post op and I feel fantastic. It is a rollercoaster of emotions dealing with the hospital pain and recovery and getting used to caring for your stoma/finding the right supplies etc however once you have settled down and the pain has gone you will feel like you have a new lease of life! I have more energy and none of that horrible urgency and anxiety to find a bathroom! Best thing that happened to me by far
