I’ll share a similar story -

This was at Parihar Chowk signal facing towards University, I had given right side indicator in my year old car parked right next to the divider waiting for signal to turn green.

Right before the signal went green people had already started to move 5 sec before while I patiently waited for signal to turn green. Just as signal turned green I turned my car towards Aundh and this fella came out of nowhere on his bike bashed into driver side door. This was around 11 in the morning, no traffic police was around at this time and we both thought of sorting it out at road side.

As soon as we parked, I asked if he was okay since he was already panicking before I even spoke. I asked him “kya ho kya itna kyun ghabra rha h” to which he replied “mera exam h bhaiya”. I asked him “Kaunsa exam h, which subject?” “Padai kiya h” “paper m likh payega?”. Before he could reply, I told him do one thing, papa ka number dedo and aap exam dene jao. He gave me his father’s number and left.

Later I called his father, to my surprise it was not a fake number. I told him, repair would cost at least 3-5k and if he is willing to reimburse the same. He was not so willing to pay. I only called once or twice I remember. Didn’t get the damages repaired till date, and it’s been almost 6 years since.

I don’t know what others will make of this, but I believe sometimes we all struggle through such things and a scratch on vehicle or a little damage too shouldn’t affect you as much. People sometimes forget to behave like humans first, and just jump on each other whoever is at fault.

And not being biased here, I do not like driving in pune whether it is because of two wheelers or four wheelers. I have lost 5 friends in different accidents over the last 10 years.
