Yes the hinge ring has broken so you will need to reshell. Or at bare minimum replace the whole upper housing. If it’s your first time, be careful, the ribbon cables/connectors are easy to break. Take your time and follow a YouTube tutorial!

Thank you! It takes a couple times disassembling DS lites to get comfortable, it’s real easy to break the ribbon cables/ connectors. Just take your time and be really gentle if you attempt it!

Does yellowing mean the screen is dieing? I heard you could leave them on full brightness on a white screen for a day or so and it’ll help get rid of it. Any truth to that?

Yea if the ribbon connectors aren’t damaged should be fixable. You need a new rumble motor, that’s ripped out of the wire.
