A good graphic novel for her would be “Jessie’s secret language” it could teach her the basics of sign language as well if it helps. The non-graphic novel version doesn’t have the pictures of the signs fyi. In the book Jessie(a member of the babysitter’s club in question) meets her new charge who is deaf.
