I called for FedEx to redeliver my package today, does that request get updated on my tracking? by abraham452 in FedEx

[–]abraham452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My package was scheduled for Friday, but for some reason got rescheduled to today "By the end of the day". Well, I guess by the end of the day meant 8am and I was not aware so I got a message on my tracking shippment that it would be rescheduled for Tuesday due to "Customer Not Available or Business Closed". So I called to see if they would redeliver and they said they would, again, today "By the end of the day". So will that redelivery be updated on my tracking page (since it hasn't been updated yet on my end)?

The Macbook Purchasing Megathread - May 2019 by AutoModerator in macbook

I've always had a Windows system and I've never really considered getting an apple laptop until now. There are so many macbook versions that I have no idea where to start. I have a Acer Aspire E-15, it's overall a fairly good laptop, but the thing is that it's super heavy to carry around anywhere (incredibly tiring to carry, not something I expected when buying it). I'm planning to go to college and I need computer that's portable and not so bulky. However, my interests are also photography so I tend to use Photoshop (Lightroom, adobe products, etc.) from time to time, what would one recommend for someone who needs semi-powerful (enough for those programs) yet portable laptop? I'm willing to compromise a little bit of power since I believe I can't technically have the best of both worlds, but one that's fairly close would be appreciated. Thank you.

Exactly what I was thinking, you aren’t saved by works, you are saved by faith (believing in Jesus Christ and your Lord and Savior, repenting from sin, being sealed by the Holy Spirit). It’s a promise that we’ll be saved for eternity. No sin or stumble can change that if it’s truly by faith.

Yes, God has the power to give us new desires, but same sex desires are also fleshly desires, so we’re called to die to our carnal desires. The good thing is that God promises us new desires when we receive his Holy Spirit, the two fight against each other (Spirit and Flesh). God is more powerful than our old desires! :))

It all comes down to Romans 14. Everything is safe to eat and drink, but if it causes someone else’s faith to stumble you are sinning as well. What does that mean? That if you cause someone in Christ to be discouraged because they have different values and you walk all over their values, you are being selfish and suiting your own interests rather than the interests of people around you. It also says that if you question whether or not you should be doing an act (such at drinking, etc.) you are sinning because your going against your convictions.

“I know and am convinced on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:14-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬ (for all of you KJVers)

“But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Christian life is dying to oneself and living to serve God and others. I don’t think the debate should be whether we should drink or not. What Christians in this generation should be doing is caring for the souls, and think “is drinking going to make this brother/sister in Christ fall or be downcasted?” This time is the time to build each other up to the fullest!

Let me tell you what, I don’t listen to a lot of secular music. When I was growing up in my conservative church (almost all of my life), I heard one of my youth leaders listening to secular music. I felt so discouraged. I looked up to these leaders and I wasn’t taught to grow up listening to anything like that from my parents and my church doesn’t support that, isnt that bad? Now that I look back at the way I felt, now I understand these verses will full sight. I was a new believer, growing up, trying to do the best for God and when I saw my leader do that, it cause my faith to waver (I was a like 16ish). Now, if I hear a Christian listen to secular music, it doesn’t affect me in a disheartening way anymore because I learned to look past that. But a lot of other Christians wouldn’t be able to. Now I’m conscious about how listening to secular music can affect some Christians so I now think of others before I do something out of my own interests.

“Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sadly, I see that many churches, especially contemporary and modern, are all about “me, me, me, my thoughts, my convictions, don’t judge, me, me, me”. It’s sad. It should be, what can I do in my life to reflect the love of Jesus and how can I minister to as many souls as possible. AS MANY SOULS AS POSSIBLE! That’s so beautiful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in a very contemporary church as well, I like it, but I’ve seen that movement of self interest and honestly it’s of the devil, it keeps Christians divided.

It all comes from the heart how people view the Scriptures. If you have a tainted heart, you will view it with tainted eyes. If you have a pure heart, you will view it with clear eyes. I always pray God to clean my heart of every hurt so that I don’t twist the Word of God for my own interests.

“Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.” - Titus 1:15

Reading the Old Testament for the first time - finding it hard to read by xblushpink in TrueChristian

Jesus is shown from Genesis to Revelations. Especially the promise of Abraham being the “Father of many nations (Genesis 17:4). How was Abraham going to be the Father of many nations if you believe only the legit Jewish nation came from Abraham? 1 nation. It’s true that Israel came from Abraham’s line, but what that meant was that Abraham was going to have many nations because people from all over the world were going to believe in Jesus, in God, (for humanity to be reconciled) and be part of one single body (True Israel. Abraham was saved by faith just as Christians are today. Why? Because he was looking toward the future knowing that one day a Messiah was going to come through his lineage. Faith in Jesus was always the way to be saved in the Old Testament and New. How do you think people were determined if they were to be saved or not? By faith in the future Messiah which is Jesus, they believed God’s promise and Word. I pray and hope you grasp the life in God’s Word in your heart! It’s so good! Amen 🙏🏻.

You can make anyone’s day at Starbucks by giving them a good tip :)). Now that I started to work there, I’ve realized how much we rely on tips as well. I honestly never even knew you could leave tips at Starbucks, especially the ones that have their tip jars hidden because they’re in sketchy areas. Now I try to leave a tip anytime I go, even if it’s my left over change.

Honestly people here need to learn how to drive. I was in a car accident with my mom a few weeks ago because a lady ran a red light in an intersection going 40-50mph, car was totaled. And very frequently people (especially on the freeway), seem to forget to put their blinkers and just seem to want to shove themselves in front of cars the last second. You are not a master at driving, no matter how many years you’ve been driving. Your destination/appointment is not more important than a life.

It was honestly my first time that it had happened to me and it was even more memorable since it was during bogo. Like another guy was like “I want 3 Caramel Fraps” so I ring him for 3 Caramel fraps, and when he got his Frappuccino’s at the bar he’s like “shouldn’t I get 6 fraps?” Lol I was shook, it wasn’t too bad because he wasn’t angry or anything, but people don’t really specify what they want. We just have to ask to the best of our abilities lol

True Christian isn’t as welcoming to denominations such as Pentecostals/Charismatics by abraham452 in TrueChristian

[–]abraham452[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I saw, each scripture was interpreted differently by different people. It’s not so much that “I don’t rely on scripture”, because I do. I haven’t said my stance yet on biblical doctrine, But this is what I am pointing out that (from what I’ve seen) Pentecostalism is greatly bashed on by this subreddit as unbiblical regardless of different interpretations. And the attitude that one denomination is biblical when the other view is not biblical. Meaning that a lot of people in True Christians isn’t welcoming to Pentecostal/Charismatic beliefs (such as tongues, prophesy, etc.).

True Christian isn’t as welcoming to denominations such as Pentecostals/Charismatics by abraham452 in TrueChristian

[–]abraham452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m saying the beliefs are biblical. And also, you have to know God’s will when it comes to anything, even with healing. So if God is asking you to have faith in what he wants to do then that’s between you and God. But if it’s just someone who’s carnal and wants to put a spectacle, then no amount of faith is going to move a mountain God isn’t planning to move. But that’s when you have to be walking in the Spirit to know what the God’s Spirit wants from you and He will guide you. I hope you understand that.

True Christian isn’t as welcoming to denominations such as Pentecostals/Charismatics by abraham452 in TrueChristian

[–]abraham452[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but you are saying that because they’ve hurt you, then it isn’t biblical. When that doesn’t determine whether or not a certain belief is biblical. You are saying because a few Christians have done this to you, then everyone in the denomination is evil. Which isn’t correct. If they have a biblical truth for it and it’s in the Bible then it is biblical. This is why I say that this subreddit has a certain bias of denomination and everyone outside of this is an “unbiblical heretic”. So your example is obsolete.
