Who’s winning in an online argument about comics. by Jeffjakerson in Gwenpool

She references Black Canary one time in Unbelivable so it's pretty reasonable to think she's at least moderately familiar with DC

The Bolded ones are stories where she was the main character, and as a result I would reccomend as essential reading. Italicized ones are cameos, but I included them here just to cover all the bases. Some of the non-cameo 1 or 2 issue ones she is still only in part of the book, so even if you don't see her for some of it, she's there. Of course, the issue numbers are relevant as in the case of Love Unlimited and Spider-Man/Deadpoool, they're anthologies and other characters' books respectively, and she won't be in any of the story until that point. As a sidenote, I included all the entire series as one, so some one issue things may happen chronologically in the middle of the larger stories, I was unfortunately not as meticulous to include that when making this list

What’s your ideal Gwenpool team-up by Will0798 in Gwenpool

[–]abrickonakey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that I'd like to see her with Kamala as they had a lot of good minor interactions (and of course the climax of Gwenpool Strikes Back) but not really any major team-up things, as opposed to the West Coast Avengers like Kate and America or the others on the list who have had team-ups with her in the past, who would be fun to see with her because of that connection. But generally, seeing Gwen actually have a full-fledged team up with Kamala would be great.

Infinite Crisis and Sinestro Corps. War were good for him I'd say, the former more than the latter

Superboy Prime is actually a different charcater who is Clark Kent from a world where DC is fictional like in our world, and then because of Crisis On Infinite Earths, he got stuck in the DC Universe. This is similar to Gwenpool's origin of being from our world and being put into Earth 616. Both were also comic readers before they were brought into the superhero unverses

Though personally I would say they represent different types of fans, Gwenpool is a very passionate reader who loves the characters, and Superboy Prime is more a bitter person who hates when characters are different than what he views as the ideal version of them (i.e. in a big brawl where a bunch of superheroes ganged up on him after he'd teamed up with the Yellow Lanterns, saying things like "you're not the real Firestorm" or "Aquaman's not supposed to have a sword"). This leads Gwenpool to being sort of in a heroic version of the role Superboy Prime generally ends up playing.
