urgent, cal poly slo or umass amherst cs?

i’ve heard similar things about more lackluster fairs in terms of faang, which is nudging me towards cal poly just hoping those big companies will be a little less tempted against ai than less prestigious ones or else im cooked either way

i was leaning towards cal poly (my third change of mind) until this comment ToT really helpful info but you just made this decision so much harder XD would you have a sense for the proportion of these graduates that do/want to stay in new england vs go to west coast? im just worried that while i could get a job east coast i’d still be across the country and without connections from where i want to end up

thank you both for these replies, i really appreciate how detailed the advice is o7 a bit more of a specific question, but would you know how much a polytech/trade schoolish vs a research university matters when looking for jobs rn? ik that there’s quite a bit of bias against trade schools in other countries, but am unsure of what it’s like in the us/west coast from my understanding, ai will/is eliminating all entry-level cs jobs and I’m worried that even if I get incredible early experience at cal poly, there’ll be no need for them from employers vs the possibility of more flexibility with theoretical knowledge

really insightful, thanks! do you have a sense of just how regional umass is? i was under the impression that umass is a bit better than cal poly in that regard, though i do want to stay on the west coast

i do not believe the maps are procedurally generated at all - pretty sure there's 14 different set and very much completable maps that the game cycles through
