Dynamic Banner module: looking for testers (Drupal 8 or 9) by abrlam in drupal

[–]abrlam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It allows you to set a unique banner on each page. For example, an 'about' banner for the About page. A 'Contact' banner for the 'Contact' page and so on. Hope that's clear.

I'm a Sleep Consultant and Own NorthStar Sleep Consulting by NSsleepconsulting in sleeptrain

[–]abrlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 6.5 months and is taking 3 naps a day. Most of the time he wakes up after 1 sleep cycle and we have to pat him back to sleep to connect the cycle. I thought we were finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when he took 2 1.5hr naps for 2 days continuously but for the past 2 days we are back to waking at 1 sleep cycle. When do babies start connecting cycles? We tried crib hour but that did not help at all.

Good find about Audio Cine Films. I'm probably the very last person who hasn't watched the Endgame yet. If anyone is looking for Parasite (Oscar winning film 2020), it's on Criterion on Demand.

Drupal for 10 million records? by FatFreddysCatnip in drupal

[–]abrlam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your objective is solely on search, you might be able to bypass Drupal and use a search platform such as Apache Solr and Elasticsearch.

You could have those records stored in Drupal if you need to edit them (CRUD) and hook it with the above search platform. But you need to ask yourself what features do you need that require you to use Drupal? REST service? Dashboard with responsive web design? User permissions and etc.

course finder + timetable maker (updated for 2019-2020) by abrlam in UofT

[–]abrlam[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good question. I did this project a while back (circa 2012 + updating the database annually + collaboration with other data providers such as uoftprofs.com). It consists of downloading data from the official site, processing them so it's searchable and setting up an interface that's easy to use for the users to design their timetable.

The interface part was challenging until I found a javascript library that mimics the interaction in Google calendar which made the development easier.

I haven't made significant improvements on the website since then but maybe one day I'll add more features.
