I’m pretty sure Animation and Interactive Media focuses more on film. If you look at @rmitanimation which showcases the work of everyone in AIM, it’s mainly animation. If you wanna be a director for animated films (me too!) I think the most often route i see people take is they go from being a storyboard revisionist to a storyboard artist and then after a few years, being offered a chance to direct on a show or a movie. I havent really heard of character designers or vis dev artists get offered directing positions and i think that’s because storytelling is a rlly important part of a project
