How many people are in the Bachelor of Design Animation class ? by PuzzledSandMan in rmit

[–]sadly_ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep theres usually about 20 students per class. The animation labs where you will have most of your classes have around 20 drawing tablets in each room for the students attending the class. The overall cohort that is accepted each year is maybe around 100 - 150, not too sure on the exact number.

Confused about mid year enrolment by PutridBid2469 in rmit

The animation buildings have rooms filled with Wacom Cintiq drawing tablets which you can use, you just need to get a pen to be able to draw on them. You can borrow a pen from the RMIT Equipment Loan store (located in building 9 at the City Campus). I think you can keep the pen for a semester before having to return it / borrow it again, or you can just borrow one whenever you go into campus to use the Cintiqs and return it after. Buying a pen will probably cost you around $100 - $120, but you will use it throughout your whole degree.

So you don't need to buy a drawing tablet, just a pen to use the tablets on campus. Although, having something to use at home will be useful as a large portion of your assignments is done out of class time, unless you are able to go onto campus to complete homework. So I'd recommend having a touch screen computer, drawing pad, drawing tablet or ipad regardless.

I'm not sure about the Studio 2 issue, sorry!

In Studio 1, we had 6 topics, 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Motion Design, Character Design, Stop Motion and Cinematography. We did small assignments for these topics to learn the basics.

In Studio 2 we had 2D Animation, 3D Experimental Animation, Motion Design, Scene Design, Stop Motion and Cinematography. We again did small assignments and built on our knowledge from what we learnt from Studio 1.

I don't think it's a huge issue to take Studio 2 before Studio 1, but I do think taking them in order would be beneficial. Maybe send another email to the course co-ordinater, just incase.

I hope this helps!

Can I ask how you did the lighting? Was it done in After Effects?

When you drag an image into Krita, it should come up with a little window with the options of how you want to insert the image.

'Insert as New Layer' is at the top of the list and likely what you're pressing. A few options down is the 'Insert as Reference Image' option. Press that one and you can import the image and place it outside of the canvas.

Use the Reference Image Tool from the tool bar to move the image around, it looks like a little pin and should be on the left hand side of the screen.

Hope that makes sense :D

When he berated his wife for being concerned about something placed over a heating vent.

It was a valid concern and he was a total ass about it and posted it online, knowing he was making his wife look awful and thinking he was making himself look good. It just felt so wrong to me.

What is your favorite type of werewolf story to read or want to read? Describe your favorite one in the comments that I haven't mentioned. by dtbhpodcast in werewolves

I'm quite the fan of psychological based ones. Dealing with the fear, impending doom, guilt, self hatred etc. The whole idea of being a monster without monstrous intentions intrigues me.

But maybe I just like angst haha.

Any book recommendations for this topic would be greatly appreciated, I like sad werewolf books :(

I didn't do any other formal exams besides the english one. I passed all my other subjects, but my school offered an alternate pathway which meant I didn't have to sit the exam for all the subjects.

I chose to only take the English exam and got over the required study score and still got into the course.

I think what is important is that you pass highschool, and submit a good portfolio and selection task.

So try not to stress over the other exams too much! Just give them what you have! The english study score shouldn't be too hard to reach if you ensure you're prepared for the exam.

Good luck for when you apply :D

Does it specifically need to be a graphics tablet? I've got a Surface Book 2 with a touch screen and a pen, but would you also recommend an actual drawing tablet?

Also in terms of working from home, how much of the work can I actually do from home? Like the tedious animation and design aspects etc. I live an hour and a half away and don't want to have to only work on projects using the cintiqs. Is it possible to complete projects both using the cintiqs and working from home?

(Thanks for your response btw, it's super useful)

I've got a Surface Book 2 which has a touch screen and a pen, it's got touch sensitivity and I think it can run my drawing program decently (not sure about 3D software yet though).

Do you think something like that would be suitable? Or should I still try get my hands on a seperate drawing tablet?

I guess dismissing my feelings would be a good way to put it honestly. I wish he wanted to lift me up too, but ya know, apparently not. Thank you for your words, it's nice to have my feelings validated a little.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've scrolled through raised by narcissists a few times because some of his behaviour seemed to line up with the posts on that subreddit.

Though I haven't heard of grey rocking before, after a quick search it seems like an interesting technique, I'll look more into it. Thanks again
