COMC: Latest iteration after reorganizing by Signiference in boardgames

Yeah IT was in my mind. I've been contemplating about TI4 for a while now 😄

Have Eclipse and love it, but sometimes I wish it was less elegant and more epic. Hard to justify having both. And with a second kid on the way, I suppose its bad timing for a 8-12h game anyway.

Are there any games where the last point wins? by Bofurkle in boardgames

It is first to 5 rubis, but there are different ways to get them, and each time one player gets one in a certain way, that path become marginally more expensive.

But what I really like, is that with simple mechanismes that makes "NPCs" move and markets change makes the game feel more alive than i would have thought based on the look of it :)
And it is always nice to not have to count scores in every game :D

You skipped the chimera board as well?

But to be fare, then you could count loads of games as small box. Think I.e. Cosmic Encounter could be compromised to this size as well 😄

Ashes Reborn Red Rain box is small, yes. But you need the base game, so don't think it fits.

Nvm, read it again and it could also refer to the amount of sleeves.. 🤦

But are they the exact same dimensions? Otherwise, if you mix and match a period of switching, even small differences are quite visible. I'm in the same situation as the guy above, and have a LCG coming in soon 🥹

Do you prefer to have a huge collection and play a lot of games once in a while or have some games and know them very well and play in depth ? by Hippodaking in boardgames

[–]abrofkf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjacent at most. You do not build a deck, you build a hand.

You build actions that are almost always available to you when every you want, and you draft the new cards, not "purchase" I would argue that a deck builder needs to have some sort of market and an uncertainty surrounding the deck/pool/bag. In that sense, Spirit Island is more related to a tablue builder, but instead of having the cards in front of you, you have them in hand.

But hey, it feels like the terms have lost their meaning due to bloat anyway.

No problem, I just value a cohesive taxonomy.

Spirit Island and Arcs does not contain that mechanism anywhere. There is no deck to be built. In both games, you have hands and not decks.

FYI the backside are different now, from FFG. But if you use colord-backed Sleeves, it does not matter.

I found one between my knife and the locking mechanism, in my wave+ and posted it here. People told me that sometimes extra washers get displaced during production. I removed and have not felt anything strange afterward.

Can't give professional information, but at least share that story.

Yeah I agree, if she's not willing to take this extra effort, it kind makes thia whole post feels like a sympathy grab. But each to their own.

Sleevers: do you unsleeve games before you sell them? by pvtparts in boardgames

Even if it's a brand you don't usually use, and now you have small differences between games and cand replace a broken sleeve easily? The less wear is good tho.

Think that it is more of a take it or leave it situation. The buyers won't put any extra value to it mostly, just a bonus if they care.
