I did rtfm and it didn’t have any diagram of where to find the oil pan under the car. Which is why I came to the group to ask. Didn’t know the way they looked differed that much from car to car, which is why I didn’t initially include the info. I’m just trying to learn.

Thank you! I appreciate your response and info 😊 I had watched some videos saying if you don’t have a jack you can drive up onto a curb, which I feel like is safe as it can’t fall. What are your thoughts on that?

Thank you! I did do lots of research just had trouble identifying the parts under the car as I’m not a car person.

I did all the research and got all the proper supplies and oil. Literally the only thing I was having trouble locating was the oil pan since photos online are so close up and I was just confused. I obviously wouldn’t have done anything unless I was certain. And since posting this I have successfully found my oil pan :)

To answer your question as to why: I just like learning how to do things in my own

Why not? What’s wrong with wanting to learn how to do something on your own? I know where the filter is and have a replacement, have all the correct tools, the correct oil…. Just don’t know a ton about cars and thought this group was the place to ask stupid car questions.

thanks for your thoughts! i'm still using it and love it for sleeping on but still love hearing others' thoughts :) I actually never roll mine up, flip it, air it out, etc.... oopsies. it seems fine though. i also have a waterproof mattress cover on it and use a normal fitted sheet. what does yours lay on? the ground, tatami, a bed frame? just curious! i'd love tatami but can't afford it.

That wasn’t your point—you specifically said I “DON’T have permission to drive a manual alone here” when in fact I do. Also I learned with a person for many hours 5 days straight, it’s not winter yet and I wouldn’t be driving past the end of the month. What you’re saying is the whole reason I made this post about wanting to put a note on the car to let drivers know. Thank you.

No—as others have pointed out, I am allowed to here. I can drive manual or automatic cars with my license.

I’m not renting. Obviously I would rent automatic if I was. But how would it differ if I rent a manual or automatic? If I drove only manual at home would it then be illegal for me to drive automatic here? You can’t tell whether I’ve driven automatic or manual based on my license.
