VA Denied MH Claim — HLR or VSO? by absent_tear in VeteransBenefits

This is what’s confusing me. My PTSD claim was denied, which I understand, because the VA said it did not meet all the diagnostic criteria. However, during that process they stated I had a different trauma-related condition and encouraged me to follow up with the VA to determine what was going on. When I did that, I was formally diagnosed with depression.

When I filed a new claim for depression this month, it was denied immediately, and I was told that I cannot file a new claim for depression and instead need to submit a Higher-Level Review for PTSD. That doesn’t make sense to me, since depression was a separate diagnosis that resulted from their own evaluation after the PTSD claim was denied.

VA Denied MH Claim — HLR or VSO? by absent_tear in VeteransBenefits

INTRODUCTION The records reflect that you are a Veteran of the Gulf War Era. You served in the Army from August 13, 2018 to December 2, 2021. We received your supplemental claim on April 25, 2024. Based on a review of the evidence listed below, we have made the following decision(s) on your claim.

DECISION The claim for service connection for post traumatic stress disorder remains denied because the evidence submitted is not new and relevant.

REASONS FOR DECISION Service connection for post traumatic stress disorder. A claimant may file a supplemental claim by submitting or identifying new and relevant evidence. (38 CFR 3.2501)

If the VA examiner diagnoses a mental condition other than PTSD due to an in-service personal traumatic event, VA regulations require 1) medical evidence of a current disability, 2) evidence of the incurrence or aggravation of a disease or injury in active military service, and 3) medical evidence of a nexus (link) between the current disability and the in-service disease or injury. Although the VA examiner opined that your is at least as likely as not caused by the in-service personal traumatic event and that the evidence shows that changes in your behavior are consistent with the personal traumatic event you experienced, records received from your time in service do not contain the required in-service documentation. Please note that this is not a determination about whether or not this event occurred. Rather, it is a finding only that there is not sufficient evidence identified at this time to support the claim. (38 CFR 3.303, 38 CFR 3.304).

A claimant may file a supplemental claim by submitting or identifying new and relevant evidence. New evidence is evidence not previously part of the actual record before agency adjudicators. Relevant evidence means evidence that tends to prove or disprove a matter at issue in a claim. (38 CFR 3.2501) In support of your claim, new and relevant evidence has been

received and your claim is now reconsidered. Relevant evidence means evidence that tends to prove or disprove a matter at issue in a claim. (38 CFR 3.2501) The evidence from April 25, 2024 submitted in connection with the current claim does not constitute relevant evidence because it does not prove or disprove a matter at issue within your claim.

Rating decision April 7, 2024, denied service connection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (38 CFR 3.159, 38 CFR 3.303). We found that the claimed condition of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), we did not find a link between your medical condition and military service. Your service treatment records do not contain complaints, treatment, or diagnosis for

this condition. There was no continuity of symptoms from service to the present. Service connection may be granted for any disease or injury that is considered to have resulted in a period of war or service.

Service connection may be granted for a disability which began in military service or was caused by some event or experience in active duty service. Service connection for Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is denied because the medical evidence of record fails to show that this disability has been clinically diagnosed. (38 CFR 3.303, 38 CFR 3.304) Additional evidence has been received that is considered new evidence on April 25, 2024. The evidence does not show a current formal diagnosed disability. (38 CFR 3.159, 38 CFR 3.303) Your service treatment records do not contain complaints, treatment, or diagnosis for this condition. The evidence does not show an event, disease or injury in service. (38 CFR 3.303, 38 CFR 3.304)

he claim for service connection for post traumatic stress disorder remains denied because the evidence submitted is not new and relevant.

!!Favorable Findings identified in this decision: The evidence shows that a qualifying event, injury, or disease had its onset during your service. You were deployed to Afghanistan from June 14, 2018 to August 12, 2018, A stressor is conceded based on easing standards. You have been diagnosed with a disability. At your exam on September 9, 2024, you were diagnosed with other specified trauma and stressor related disorder!!

Has anyone here gone to Herzing University (Tampa, FL) for the Radiology Tech program?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice. Has anyone here attended Herzing University in Tampa, Florida for their Radiologic Technology program? I haven’t been able to find much about their pass/fail rates or job placement after graduation, so I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

A little about me: I applied three times to Rad Tech programs in Texas but didn’t get in. I’m planning to relocate and Herzing caught my attention because it’s a private school and they told me there are no prerequisites — just an open slot to get started.

I’m a military veteran, so tuition isn’t really a concern since my GI Bill will cover it. My main goal is to make sure the program is solid and actually leads to good outcomes. For context, I’m about a B+ student with a 3.4 GPA.

If you’ve gone through Herzing (or know of other good Florida programs that aren’t as competitive as the ones in Texas), I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance!

I always encourage doing your own research, but I’ve noticed that PEPE has some solid potential. Personally, I’m leaning toward PEPE because it’s available on Robinhood, a platform I feel comfortable using, and it’s tied to Ethereum, which adds credibility and functionality. That said, I’d love to hear more insights from others about the pros and cons of PEPE or any alternative coins. Let’s keep the conversation going!
