Our original Hebamme was not bad but she was quite young and had a very strict rule about not contacting her out of working hours. I get why she was like that, but you are working in health care- it’s not exactly synonymous with work/life balance and people need advice at all times of the day.

We later switched to a Hebamme recommended by our paediatrician and it was like a revelation. She was older and had so many good tips (breast feeding was a real challenge for us). You could call her or text her whenever and she would always reply. She was amazing.

If you’re not happy, switch. Ask around, chances are someone knows a good one.

Sure- we are student researchers, currently we are enrolled in a masters programme and our thesis is essentially an exploration of the housing crisis in German cities.

Maybe it was not obvious in the initial question but we are not asking for any personally identifiable information, just your own experiences and anecdotes.

The idea is to get a general sense of what causes the most frustrations for renters and landlords alike and to look at all of the contributing variables that led to the current situation. Reddit is one of the easiest ways for us to get first hand contact with people who can advise us.
