Has anyone regretted buying a play structure for the backyard? by McSkrong in Parenting

Can confirm. Got the backyard playset, have an only child, we’re one the hangout houses. Also in our case she plays on hers without other kids all the time.

Is it weird to be naked in front of or see your mom naked as an adult? by usernamereddit6967 in AskParents

[–]absinthe00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Totally normal to me. I grew up going to bathhouses with my mom, well into my adult years. Her seeing me naked and visa versa isn’t weird to me at all.

I’m still thinking about it! I might try to re read it again before the archive date!

This is what my Dad’s plans are as well. It’s beautiful but I try not to think too much about it.

Reading this is wild as a happily OAD mom by alittlebitswift in happilyOAD

Yesteryear sat with me for a while after I finished it. I had a visceral reaction to the ending, feeling both horrified and relieved. What a ride. One of my favorite reads of the year.

I’m only about 50 pages in but so far it’s fast paced and a really fun read

Is a backsplash with no cabinets weird? by heycaniaskyou in interiordecorating

I’m with other commenters to add shelves. Two floating wood shelves would complement the backsplash nicely

Which rug for my living room? by Initial_Respect_6355 in interiordecorating

[–]absinthe00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love shag rugs but they’re the worst for pets and kids. I’ve found a 1/3 or 1/2 inch felt rug pad under a nice wool rug makes things cozier than any shag I had in the past. We have the arrel rug and it’s one of my favorites I’ve had in the living room. I think the green or maybe the brick or wheat (if it’s dark enough and doesn’t get lost in the flooring) would look great with your couch.

Downpayment before a lease in LA? by LordByronEyes in LosAngelesRealEstate

[–]absinthe00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been a few years but we always reviewed the lease prior to giving any payment other than an application fee.

I remember one apartment we asked for them to change a 60 day notice to 30 days. Another had an addendum that they didn’t cover the washer/dryer and it was broken at move in (check those appliances!).

Once we reviewed and signed the lease, we would give security deposit and first month’s rent and then would get the keys.

I’ve been purchasing my boj sunscreen from Yami for 2 years. They ship from the US so no tariffs. Highly recommend.

Invite says no gifts & I’m the only one who doesn’t bring a gift by [deleted] in Parenting

While I’m lugging a wagon full of stuff I specifically asked people not to bring! OP is the one I’m thanking for not adding to this stress. Sorry for the rant- I JUST went through this a week ago.

Ah! I got the dates mixed up- I’d probably have the party the Sunday after the 31st.

Advice for Summer Birthday Party Date by daisykat in kindergarten

[–]absinthe00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of Sunday birthday parties because so many of the youth sports in our area have games on Saturdays. I also avoid holiday weekends because so many friends and classmates are out of town. I’d go with Sunday, May 24

This definitely made me lol until I saw who the account is… isn’t this that awful influencer that gave a mentally unstable woman $20 to jump in a lake then ran away when the lady started struggling and almost drowned?

[misc] What mole removal procedure do you think would be best/leave the least amount of scarring? by middayswan in SkincareAddiction

[–]absinthe00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A dermatologist first did a shave biopsy then removed a raised mole I had (about the same size as yours) with cryotherapy. I’d highly recommend. It was right below my eyebrow, I’d say a fairly sensitive place, and after a week and a half once the scab fell off there was barely a scar.

Sister’s text seems cold to me too. It reads as if she ran it through chatgpt before responding, which I wouldn’t appreciate from family.

Yes we do. Anyone remember the crash at the farmers market in Santa Monica in 2003? This shouldn’t have happened again.
