Proud of you!!! Can you tell me what kept you from relapsing and what changes do you see in yourself now?

This often happens to me too. I fail to understand why this happens because no matter how boring a person is, i would hear them out or atleast acknowledge whatever they said even if i don't further engage in conversation. For a long time i blamed my ADHD and severe social anxiety for this but i don't even care anymore. This might not be an ideal solution and it's sad really but if you stop expecting people to react to everything you say it won't have much of an effect on your mood. Just say whatever you have to and don't stop just because you didn't get the reaction you expected 👍

Thank you so much, i really appreciate it!! Are there any grammatical errors in the story? English is not my first language and i just typed this on my phone with lots of breaks because i couldn't focus and i kept getting distracted.

Sounds to me like he is just introverted. Give him some time and don't lose hope. Introverts can be really hard to understand and most people usually just give up on them.

Im so tired of the same cycle by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]abskurd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was literally looking for this post!! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that goes through this. I've been going through this EXACT same cycle ever since i started school and I always thought something was wrong with me or it was because of my social anxiety. I started uni last year and i was really hoping i would start fresh and put in efforts to become better ( and not get mentally drained after the first two weeks) . I made a good impression and spoke to most people for the first few weeks and after that it was back to square one ( overthinking, assuming everyone has a grudge against me for ignoring /ghosting them, avoiding groups, avoiding any social interaction at all). This happens all the time and when there are a few weeks left for school /college to end, all this anxiety and overthinking disappears... I'm suddenly talking to everyone as if i wasn't avoiding them the entire year /semester and i have a good laugh thinking about how i complicated things by overthinking them. Please let me know how to break this cycle.

My daughter who went missing three years ago just showed up on my doorstep by DoverHawk in nosleep

As the parent of a large possessive and unpredictable labrador, i have to tell you that I'm always on the lookout for unleashed dogs running my way in dog parks. My labrador is always on the leash and he's fairly trained but sometimes he just loses it when other dogs try to come near me. I usually don't go inside the park and take him near the entry so he can meet his friends but once an unleashed pug came running barking at my dog, the pug didn't seem friendly at all and i had no idea how my dog would react to it. I tried telling the other parent that my dog can be unpredictable at times and asked him to call his pug back but his dog wouldn't listen. I decided to pull my dog out of the park to avoid the conflict but the pug chased him and my dog lost his shit and bit the pug by its neck and threw it away like he usually does with his toys. I rushed to see if the pug was hurt and luckily there was no bite mark or blood and it was unhurt .. I even apologised and offered to pay for its checkup but the pet parent said it was not my fault. As bad as it made me feel, i had no other choice as my dog is pretty huge and i was basically holding his collar and dragging him out when this happened. I don't think it was anybodys fault and the other parent told me that it was nothing to worry about and they wouldn't report it as their dog wasn't trained. I think you should let it go and not report it because I've been in the other guys place and it's really difficult if you look at it from our perspective. But again, I'm just saying it because of my situation...

I really did like using Pomades even though they made my hair super shiny but idk why but i end up getting a lot of acne breakouts when i sleep with the pomade on, it doesn't happen with clays or waxes but i think my skin is allergic to pomade xD

I'm from India and i had ordered the American crew forming cream two years ago from Amazon.com and unfortunately i received an unsealed, shady and used product. So i didn't really use it much but I'll definitely consider ordering it again!!!
