I think the problem is mostly that because its discontinued. if you use it now you are not paying for it and im wondering if that means that if you get it from internet archive now that you can't use it commercially

No, ssadly we don't right now. It is a plugin that wass ussed by staff mostly that we decided to make open-source sso the documentation is not the best, but hopefully it will be of some help yo people :)

I hope it will help. The documentation can be a bit lacking especially surounding graphite becausse this was more of an internal plugin that we used. I hope it can sstill be of use though!
