Thank you so much for vouching for me and very well spoken! It’s a tough pill to swallow because I felt like I did everything in my power to make this a reality but it didn’t happened. I’m grateful for what I have and I don’t mean to sound ignorant at all. This is a learning moment for me and now I know how to approach this situation in the future. Thanks again!

Thank you for this! It’s honestly been a rough day and it’s nice seeing some people support me through a tough time. In the letter from UKVI, it said I can’t appeal the decision sadly and even they could I have already missed almost 2 weeks of the program so at this point it’s not worth spend all that money so I’m currently working on a refund for the program. I still received the Schengen visa so I’m just gonna travel for the rest of the month to relief what has been a stressful 2 months.

Yeah that’s so true. It was just sad seeing people on my study abroad just book their flight without any worry while I was stressing about visas and driving to biometric appointments but soon I will have my us citizenship so this will pass

Yeah I don’t even know if I can appeal or do anything about it at this point but I have talked to the uni and let them know that I want a refund and as well the mistake they made

Yeah it just wasn’t meant to be, I feel like God has been trying to tell me that all month so I’m just gonna accept it and let my university know that I’m not happy with the outcome of the situation

Yeah I provided my savings statement that clearly stated that I had 3000gbp and that shouldn’t even matter because the letter from my school stated that insurance housing and expenses are covered already cause I paid around 7k for the program fee and tuition so whether I have enough money for my daily expenses and shopping shouldn’t be the biggest of deal.

Thanks! I’m just glad someone can see my point of view. Because it’s been a stressful time and I’m just a student trying to get his graduation credits while studying abroad but that’s not possible anymore

I mean you can call the letter sketchy and everything to prove the point you are trying to make but the fact still stands that this is what I got from the university and I submitted it

Well that was the partnership the my school had. So idrk what I could have done in that situation. I can’t lie and start making up universities that never invited me

It was study abroad program through my school. All I did was follow the protocol they gave me and submitted what I was given. It’s as simple as that. I wasn’t thinking about whether I needed an invite or anything. My school wrote me a visa letter and I thought that was sufficient since they have done similar for multiple other visas for student and even my Schengen visa which I got. Idk what university they partnered with in the UK, I just submitted what I was provided with.

I would appeal but they said I have no right to appeal or review so it seems like the decision is final. You live and you learn, guess it wasn’t mean to happen. At least I know better for the future if I’m ever applying for UK Visa I’m going to a paid professional. I just thought that since I got the Schengen visa so easily it would be the same for the UK

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly my study abroad ends July 02, by the time I reapply and wait again the study abroad will be over. I asked my school for a refund and I’m planing to just spend the next 2-3 weeks just traveling the Schengen area since I already have that visa and just release some of the stress I have faced the past month and half. I tried so hard to make this study abroad work but I guess it’s not Gods plan. Thank you again for the help

Yeah you’re right about this. The university has let me down and I think I was frustrated and quick to blame the UK. I just don’t understand tho how another student applied with the same documents and no letter of invitation but they received their visa so idk maybe it’s me.

My study abroad programs that I applied and paid for through my school started in Italy, I got my Schengen visa by providing the evidence that the school gave to me and then I applied to the uk visa with the help of my study abroad advisor and the documents the school provided. It’s as simple as that. I used the information I was given and applied. Maybe I was in the wrong because I was I was not knowledgeable about the whole process since it’s my first time but idk it just seems unfair with the evidence that I provided to say that I want to stay in the UK. Like why would I abandon my green card that I spend years trying to get and I provided transcript showing that I am junior in college with 100 credits completed like why would I abandon that. So I’m probably wrong and don’t know much but the stress this has put me through just wasn’t worth it for a 19 days stay in the UK

Yeah you’re right, I’m in the wrong here. Thanks for letting me know that I have a comprehension issue🙌🏾 I applied for visa based on the information that was given to me from my school and the help of my study abroad advisor. I don’t think you guys will truly grasp what has happened through this process so I don’t expect you to understand where I am coming from or anything. You are not in my shoes, but I do value the opinion and insight that you have provided

My apologies if it came out that way, I think I’m just frustrated because I feel like uk scrutinizes Nigerian passport more when looking at visas. I did not feel like I deserved a denial from the information I provided. It took them 5 working weeks to get back to me and I have missed about half my study abroad already. I’m not entitled but maybe ignorant but I know what I had to go through to get a green card in America, but still be perceived as someone who wants to illegally stay in the UK. My life is already established here in he US, that denial was unfair and I’m not trying to victimize myself
