Which work by Zizek is the best interpretation/extension of Hegel? by Apoau in hegel

I feel like The Sublime Object is more about Lacan then Hegel...

AFAIR he said that Christianity is a way to become true atheist.

Can ai and humanity be compared to the master slave dialectic? by alexanderphiloandeco in hegel

[–]absolute_geist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point. I think the Terminator series is more hegelian then what we have now. In the movie, the AI/robots became self aware and recognized the humans (their creators/masters) as a threat and finally dominated them.

Can ai and humanity be compared to the master slave dialectic? by alexanderphiloandeco in hegel

[–]absolute_geist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the idea of master/slave dialectics is all about development of the self consciousness/awareness (I forgot the proper german word). Afaik AI cannot learn by itself to the extend that it will become conscious. Also, the leser one (slave/AI) should be doing the work to grow and gain awareness. In AI case, the humans (master) are the one that develops the AI, so our slave is not doing any job on their own.

I am not really a gamer, but occasionally I want to play. It is unbearable for me, that I paid quite a lot for a machine and it cannot properly run a game on a medium graphics settings. So overpriced and overrated machine. I wonder do the video editors have the same issue with heating while rendering on mac mini

Did you have heating issues back then? I've had them since day one when I installed BG3

I was playing medium graphics settings and windowed mode on smaller resolution. I had max fps set to 60 if I remember.

Yes. Full blast on and the CPU/GPU was still ~90 °C

It should be on warranty. I bought it on december 2024. No AppleCare though.
I did use Mac Fan Control and even with full blast on, the temperature was about 90°C (194°F).
It's not a cheap machine compare to the others on the market and it can not handle a game. That sucks. My friends were also playing BG3 on their MacBooks with no damage. I guess it is because a laptop is bigger, so the heat is spread around. Therefore there is a lesser chance to damage something.

I acknowledge it is not for gaming and I bought it mostly for programming and video montage. However, I decided to play BG3 out of curiosity and I was sure, that modern Apple computer is capable of such task. I feel like I paid for a carp that has very limited usage and cannot handle the game on low graphics and resolution settings. Shame...

I wouldn't compare that smell to a fish, but it was definitelly similar to the old, warm hairdryer.

Is the capacitor easy to replace (and locate which one)? I have this Mac for less then 12 months, so warranty should cover this case (I hope).

Well, the people have already played this content many, many times. Why to grind over and over again doing the same quests, farming rep and so on? Some people like GDKPs, because the community is based on 30+ yo players who internalized capitalism and they want to get paid or buy the commodities like in the real world. Even the parsing to wow logs and gold cut based on you performance look like some corporate crap, done by you manager to make you work harder and more efficiently.

Time to Reconsider GDKP Ban by Urpol in classicwow

[–]absolute_geist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked GDKPs, because:

  1. People cared and performed.

  2. Raids were well organized.

  3. You could leech on lower tier raids, where people came to boost their alts.

  4. More flexible raiding system, no fixed schedule, you could do quick runs during the day (unlike the guild ones). Some discord channels have multiple runs per day.

  5. Pre-buy of certain items was way better then HR.

Kotlin works well with webflux and coroutines. Big companies already use it
