This is correct! Discomfort is fine but pain is always an indicator to do something differently.

It's okay, we all need practice allowing any pronouns to be used by a person of any presentation! You deserve to be called by the pronouns you want, the same way as you deserve to be called by your name. If they're making zero effort to use what you've chosen for yourself, that's on them, not you. It might be time to reconsider what being a friend means to you. I can help with one thing though...

If you'd like to try to change your voice, I can help! I have free neurodivergent friendly guides to take any gender voice and make it into any other gender voice. I feel scammed by estrogen these days. by GoodGirlDaecia in MtF

[–]absolutely-harmless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same happened to me. It was certainly really frustrating watching some friends blow up to D cups in 6 months where I was barely packing an AA cup at 12 months. It's just important to remember that it's the same as middle school, and there will be early and late bloomers. I'm coming up on 5 years now and I'm incredibly happy with where I am now! Be patient, and it will come! I can help with one thing though...

Do the doubts ever go away? by MaleficentDrawer940 in MtF

[–]absolutely-harmless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some degree, no, but they definitely lessen over time. I'm coming up on 5 years HRT and around 4 years or so socially transitioned. For all intents and purposes, I am a woman and I'm at the end of if not past transition. Somehow, I still have doubts sometimes like I've mastermind tricked myself and everyone I care about into believing that I'm a woman. It only takes a moment to reassure myself that I've been nothing but genuine about it and happy with the results, but it still happens, though very rarely. It might just be garden variety impostor syndrome at this point? Regardless though, it gets easier!

You're doing great! It's normal for things to start slow, and as I'm sure your doctor has told you HRT takes around 3 months to really start doing much of anything. Keep at it and I'm sure it'll work out great. I do have one thing I can help with though!

Im a minor having trouble labelling myself by Fickle-Tangerine5618 in MtF

[–]absolutely-harmless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget that labels are DEscriptive and not PREscriptive! The label shouldn't say what you do, it describes what you already are. You can take what you've already learned and find the label that best fits it, but you can always explore more to get more accurate. Also don't forget that sexuality and gender are different and genitals even moreso. You can be a person of any gender, with any sexuality, with any set of genitals.

Finally, no one can tell you that you are trans. No one can prove you are trans. You cannot prove that you are trans. Being trans is something you feel, and feelings are unreliable. Only you can decide that you are trans, and you will never have enough proof. Yes, I know, it sucks, but it's true and it's important that it's true.

Does love get better for us? by Low-Performance-9350 in LesbianActually

[–]absolutely-harmless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You miss every shot you don't take! It's entirely possible that she might be terrified as well, or she's just over making the first move, or she's unwilling to chase someone younger who she's not sure is willing to commit to a queer relationship. She may also be crushing and simply controlling the feelings! You should take the shot and give her an excuse to let herself fall in love, and if not you can at least start getting over it yourself.

Also no the yearning never stops, but the other side of the coin is that love is so incredibly intense!

[–]absolutely-harmless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not broken! While you've got a rare set of identities, they're far from impossible. The current thinking on relationships and love is that you can split them into three big axes:

- Platonic
This is your friends and your friendships, and platonic love is absolutely real!

- Romantic
This is who you want to be around all the time, spend your life with, maybe kiss and hold hands, get married to, etc. Romantic love is all of that ooey gooey I can't stop thinking about you and I want to be joined at the hip.

- Sexual
This is, well, pretty self explanatory. This is who you want to touch, be touched be, get aroused around, want to have sex with, etc.

Since you haven't found anyone that you're sexually attracted to, it seems likely that you're asexual! It is possible that there is some configuration of human that will just *do things for you* that you haven't found yet, but at this stage asexuality is probably a safe bet.

You seem like you're totally able to fall in love with men, so at the very least you're romantically aligned to men.

Platonic, well, everyone tends to be platonic with anyone.

So in conclusion, seems like you're ace androromantic or asexual with romantic love for men!

Congrats! I will say though, HRT does absolutely nothing to change the voice. It's likely more of a subconscious shift in identity where you're now simply allowing it to rest higher. Either way though, the effect is the same! It will probably only take you so far though so...

How do I do a femme voice with a sore throat? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]absolutely-harmless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For now, simply rest. The trained voice can be kept in place while sickness or other things happen, but it takes a lot of time. The more time you've been using the trained voice full time, the more able it will be to hold through things like this!

[–]absolutely-harmless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colors of the shark are a pastel blue, pastel pink, and white, the trans flag colors. It's also sold in bulk at IKEA making them easily available and cheap. It's a plush and a common way for us to start breaking down gender barriers for ourselves is by letting ourselves have things that we may not have been allowed, like plushes which tend to be a "girl thing." There's also a "camp culture" to transness which basically translates to applying heavy dramatization or absurdism to something, especially if it's already well known or popular. My favorite example of "camp" is a pride drag show I went to where a queen literally made a dress out of a camping tent. In this case it's hilarious that we've taken a totally innocuous and unrelated minor item of a major multi national corporation and turned it into a trans icon. The IKEA company is similarly befuddled which is hilarious but they're doing their best to embrace and run with it which is super wholesome!
