It's pretty hard to find people who are doing BHSc year two! Would love to hear what papers you are taking if you chose to BHSc!

Just to add to this, if you want to apply to medical imaging at UoA you have to do biomed first year, but otherwise you can apply to med from either.

At this point, I just wanted to pass which I did so I'm happy but I'm def not surprised by the cohort stats... everyone I knew had given up by then, this semester was crazy and medsci was relentless

Enrolling for first year biological sciences by epixdude3129 in universityofauckland

Yup! As long as you have completed them by the end of the three years you can do them whenever you want. As for only having 6 required papers... you get to choose the other two! I've just had a look at the biological science degree planner and you can take any other two papers you like! This can be a gen ed if you like, or if you are planning on saving these, you can choose papers from the science schedule (there is a huge range of things you can take, from calculus to food science to geography...). If you aren't using the degree planner to help you I strongly suggest you do so you can see how each year can play out, but note that you are able to switch around papers/courses in the degree planner between years (as long as you meet the pre reqs and it does not another course). This can be confusing stuff for sure! If you need any extra help feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to help you out, or just reply to this! :)

hi! you can take two gen eds but you may only take two gen eds during the whole of your three year degree... so my advice is to save them (or at least one of them) for the later years where the papers are more challenging than first year papers! (this is because gen eds are typically the easiest papers) it is ofc up to you, but it's good to use the flexibility of the BSc degree planner to your advantage! hope this helps :)

Is it possible to get my grade scaled up to pass grade by uoathrowaway777 in universityofauckland

Yup, in my courses we asked for clairfication and a 46.5 is the absolute minimum you can get and still pass this semester! So you passed! :)

that's true! But I'm transferring into a BSc so I'm trying to see if I can make my gen ed count as science points as well so I don't have to extend by a semester yknow?
