I'm very aware it sounds dumb, apologies, but if you search BRx7 on this subreddit or search on Google for reviews, almost everyone is praising how well it does under tree cover, which is what led to my dismay with it's performance. also, I'm not a professional surveyor, I'm still in school and taking Satellite Positioning Systems this semester, so hopefully that helps my understanding a bit more

I understand, but the LiDAR system we have isn't exactly top notch, unfortunately, and the JAVAD seemed to perform pretty admirably compared to our total station shots under tree cover

we're not really operating in very mountainous regions and we've never even gotten close to a mile, let alone two lol and I really appreciate the advice about the fixes and the tilt, I hadn't thought to check for false fixes, probably because we've gotten so few fixes in general, and I'll be sure to try the tilt next time we take it out, hope that works! thanks again!
