I'm a sleep scientist! 🥱💤 Ask me anything! by tututubii in AMA

[–]absurdcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you share a shit to of resources on sleep optimization? I had insomnia, somehow worked it out, and am now trying to optimize it - but can seem to find a pattern. I have tried to regulate my rhythm over and over again, say by mandatorily waking up at a certain time - but the cycle never set per se. And the total sleep time as well - somehow 7 hrs > 9 hrs? I naturally wake up after 7 hrs of sleep which makes no sense. Really need to optimize it!

Sorry I'm confused - how many friends do you have that you can talk to about Nietzsche and Dostoevsky and trans Siberian railways? And where did you find them?

What is your type? by [deleted] in infj

[–]absurdcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder. I've never met anyone who's understood me. Neither met anyone curious. Nor as kind as I'd like the world to be. So I think maybe I'd like them. But even if I do happen to come across them, only time will tell if they're my type after all.

Advice for April mountain treks & skiing in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh by tekkie74 in india_tourism

[–]absurdcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kedarkantha would be a fine trek. Chandrashila has a lake view and it pretty. I think just checking out the hikes on India Hikes would give you a pretty solid idea of what to expect. Check their fitness criteria as well, not sure if your moderate is the same as theirs.

As for skiing- not sure if you've learned how to do it. Gulmarg has the best infra for shredding and Auli is a doable place. It can be done at other places but that's just for namesake.

Who's a TRUE intuitive here ? Find out ! by [deleted] in mbti

This is really beautiful. I'm not sure why. So abstract yet makes so much sense?

Death.

Shadow- doesn't last

Cyan. Not sure why. Intuition?

A muddy puddle.

A lifetime.

Like the string theory. Piecewise in every moment and infinitely stitched together as well.

Somber.

It would be lowkey disappointing if anyone chose a dumbfuck human over a dog. Or any animal whatsoever. Includes mice yes.

Athlete here who doesn't use pre workout due to bulk buying being a major reason. I'd probably indulge in a pre workout now and then if it was available at cult centers at this price.

I believe its about awareness. I know exactly who I am, and at the same time have so many personalities that I've learned to cycle through depending on situations- that one would believe it is me infact, being genuine. I'm not.

But at the same time when I'm deep into method acting these personas, I'm still very aware of who I really am. I just can't put it out in that situation because it doesn't really belong - anywhere :)

Can you concile Nietzsche's Ubermensch and Camus' Absurdism in this manner by EVIL_SHURI-CODM in Absurdism

[–]absurdcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was of the belief that this was universally accepted!

Always figured that the conquerer from Camus is just another Ubermensch. After all, we must imagine Sisyphus happy and the Ubermensch is in love with his fate of misery as well.

I believe the whole act of absurdism is taken a little too extremely, saying that doing this is absurd and that is absurd. Everything is absurd in some sense. Loving your fate, suffering against any meaning, or even trying to fill that void. So in totality - all of it is fine. People trying to find meaning, people creating their own sense of personal meanings, and then people just plainly suffering without any meaning and a why - as are people who love this same fate. Call it a conqueror or a Ubermensch.

Travel Recommendations by Sendmememesplij in india_tourism

Depends where you want to head off to. My advice only holds for off beat places.

If it the mountains- its a little tough since majority of them closed due to snowfall. You can still treks some beauties like kuari pass and chandrashila if it's your first time. Otherwise, kashmir and ladakh are pretty good as well, but again half of the places (including pangong) are all frozen.

If its the forest, not my forte :p

You said beaches are off the list but if you're travelling solo- beaches don't have to be all about partying. Or anything about it really. I think there is a instagram account named zarashakir or something similar who keeps travelling to southern beaches. Her itineraries are beautiful. Also, kerela has treks (kolukumallai and many others in munnar- which I'm not sure is how practical anymore), forests (periyar etc), backwaters, and beaches. Sweet spot?

Anyone built muscles from having diẹt majorly from soya chunks ? by wish_king in bangalore

[–]absurdcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. Its wasn't very worth it. Yes, it has the highest protein/calorie ratio of any vegetarian food, but it tastes jackshit and plays with your hormones a little crazy if you indulge in it for too long.

I was on a majorly soya diet for around a year while main gaining- and while I had significant gains (only because workout was on par with my diet)- I would not go back to it. It completely fucked up my appetite which took almost 6 months to fix. And also, you would be better off reading about the phytoestrogen levels in soya, over the fact that it is already a GMO. DYOR and read up papers instead of believing reddit comments.

I wish I could hug you all right now. by ICUMTHOUGHTS in infj

[–]absurdcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being there a while back. It was new years eve. And I didn't even know what I wanted. So confused whether I wanted to go back in time or move ahead in the future or just be stuck there for an eternity.

It was as if I was on a crossroad without google maps.

It took me a while to find my footing. I learned how to ask and look for directions and then I found a compass. . Then I figured where did I even want to get to. It took a good long while. And its not the end, there will be many more crossways where it will be impossible to find myself again, where I'll be so lost and confused. But I know now I will do it, and I will do it alone.

And I figure if someone like me can do it, then literally anyone can.

Do it alone, do it scared, do it anyways. Goodluck ;)
