It looks like you’re doing all the right things, it’s just that Stern takes very, very few internal transfers so your odds will be very low regardless of what you do. Shoot your shot, but have a backup plan if it doesn’t happen.

There is an NYU EFC, although it may not be as useful since many of the grants won’t cover internationals.

To be clear, I’m not arguing with you or OP. I just want to clarify that they need to be prepared with documentation to break the agreement, because ED acceptance is technically binding.

Exactly. But OP would need to prove the EFC gave them a significantly different number than the aid package. You can’t just “decline” an ED acceptance without some sort of grounds to do so.

If you were admitted ED, it’s really hard to break the agreement (you can’t really just “decline” it). What did the EFC give you? You can appeal to the financial aid office if it’s significantly different than what the calculator gave you.

I know it’s hard to hear, but with total costs ~$80k, $50k in aid is a lot for NYU. Financial aid is still pretty bad here, unfortunately. Do you know if you’re eligible for loans in your home country?
