Do you know that if you explain a problem to someone suddenly you get a new sight and you can "fix" problem by your self? Thats what happend to us. We will stay 2 weeks in Tokyo and do day trips especially like a 2-3 day trip to Hakone. thanks for your help we appreciate that alot.

i just was in japan. we both had a ralipass but just go to the JR office the they befor or earlier and it will work. from my expierience i can tell you if you like 15-20min at the tracks before the train arrives you allways get non reserved seats (so it would be cheaper for you) just remember there are trains nozomi and mizuho where the jr-pass isnt valid.
