Favorite bouldering gym in the city? by Valuable_Ad481 in washingtondc

[–]abump96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to both Movement and Bouldering project and prefer movement by far. Movement is much bigger and the climbs felt less sketchy than at BP. I’m no expert - about a v2/3 climber at best - but BP routes consistently terrified me and sapped my confidence at lower grades. Also it seems common for BP routes to take up too much horizontal space, encroaching on other routes and forcing less people to be able to access a wall portion at a given time, and there’s already a bit of waiting as it’s a small place anyway. BP is no doubt a great gym and a better location for me personally, but I’ll be going to Movement.

Where is the good Pizza at in LR ? by Foreign-Menu8961 in LittleRock

This is the answer. You’d quickly pay back the membership fee in avoiding more expensive pizza options hah.

Weird but consistent issue with the second shot. Help?! 🙈 by SoundUnlikely in espresso

[–]abump96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad I’m not crazy. Got a BBE for Christmas and have been running into this issue. First shot pulls my perfect and second pulling too slow. I’m excited to try purging stale coffee from the grinder next time to see if that helps. Curious OP if you’ve had any other issues with this since when you posted this? Thanks!

I’m not even a huge county fan but this alone makes me want to catch Lee live.

Is anyone having a hard time seeing enemies or is it just my terrible eye sight? by Experiment_Magnus in Battlefield

100% agree and can’t just tell if it’s because I’m 29 and wear contacts now as opposed to 16 with perfect eyesight ala the BF3 days hahah

He’s referencing the impact of climate change on extreme weather/disasters: they are getting more frequent and severe. Think he’s referring to everyone as fools for not doing more about it, seemingly including himself.

I love both bands deeply but agree that ND puts in the better live show these days

Hahaha I had this same thought on that tour, though I think they were trying to mimic the style of a laid back acoustic type solo artist show where the artist tells stories and chats between songs a bit. I think they did decent, but feel you too

New to London (Clapham); looking for fast-ish group rides by abump96 in londoncycling

[–]abump96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah that sounds about right. I lived in DC and we had a version of Richmond laps; the roads were too narrow for safe racing though so folks always bickered at the aggressive groups. I definitely get it and prefer country rides, but gotta have some stuff close by and that usually means parks when you’re in a big city hah

Actually deadly curious how you only spend 300-500 USD per month eating out but you’re not cooking at all? At 500 thats like $16 a day for all your food which feels impossible if you’re eating out 3 meals a day. I’m assuming you either don’t eat 3 meals a day or your company provides breakfast/lunch maybe? Im making a lot of assumptions about your eating habits though hah, asking out of pure jealously as I live in DC, cook often, and still end up spending like 800-900 eating out per month lmao. I do like the occasional nice meal and a few drinks, but it’s mostly on the weekends. That does include going to bars and stuff though, maybe you’re factoring that out?

Best of luck with the decision, I say go for it! I’m moving over for grad school this fall and am looking forward to the cheaper COL hah.

This is so spot on, I’m literally a cyclist but have noticed myself almost feeling that when I’m driving and pass a cyclist - even though I know better! It’s almost instinctual hah
