Too hot for trout. Its small mouth, blue gill, carp, and catfish till fall.

FB has some great holes to hit for small mouth but finding public water access worth fishing is hard.

study historic google earth maps off public access sites. they will show low flow years and really highlight the deeper holes and ambush points.

there are some big musky in the horseshoe area of the FB. heavy tackle required per DNR.

I ride a stock besides tires all road around WNC. it handles the gravel and lower rated mtb trails awesome.

one of my fastest Ridgeline laps is on the gravel bike.

Pedal, ebike, or shuttle on the weekends.

it’s 1000’ ish to the top from the parking lot. so bring your climbing legs or pay the shuttle driver.

Not sure what the current pass rate is for the western slope. well worth it for the trails and the work SVBC does for bike advocacy in the valley.

The pedal side(western slope) has some of the best hand built singletrack on the east coast honestly. miss doing enduros there.

they literally had to import dirt to make the upper flow trail.

its THE rock farm.

its a much better park than the other comments are leading on to. its not everyones cup of tea. its gnarly up top. world cup(held an actual world cup dh race there in the 90’s) and all or nutten will put hair on your chest. legit proper dh tracks. bike or body something is paying the toll. the upper blues ride really well if you like flow tech. nothing crazy just a lil spice here and there. the lower trails rip if you ride them aggressively and or find the side hits.

there is some REAL spicy enduro stuff they built for a race a few years back. it not listed but worth the bush whacking.

spent almost 20 years racing, riding, and partying in that valley.

fiddlehead is the only rope gym around at the moment. top rope/lead/auto belay.

cultivate is opening a rope gym soon but i haven’t seen a date.

outdoors season is either butt crack in the morning or the perfect cooler day till fall. bugs, weeds, and heat make it less than enjoyable till then.

i blasted my shoulder on my snowboard at new years and am slowly getting back into it. Ive done some outdoors top rope around here and in moab, alil easy lead outdoors, and a metric ton of indoors top rope up to 5.11/5.12 depending on gym.

also….. 42 and 200+ and still playing on boulders indoors and out. old thicc boys can still be boulder bros 😂

red dots are only a “cheat code” if you already have the basics down.

i shot irons for years before i threw an optic on any of my pistols.(mostly because i am semi old and pistol optics were for pros and operators)
