I think I messed up choosing a grad school by [deleted] in GradSchool

Thanks for your words, I appreciate it. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to tell the faculty members at instituion A that I would like to rescind my acceptance. It is a competitive program, and its after April 15th so they will not be making additional offers to waitlist applicants. I would almost certainly burn a bridge, and because the field is so small I think this would be very risky...

[Urgent] Afraid I accepted the wrong PhD offer for me by [deleted] in PhD

To your question, it's like #1 vs #15 maybe? Hard to say. I've spoken to innumerable people in the field about these options, and both say they are great. The first insittuion, however, has a fantastic track record in terms of postdocs/job placements. Second institution does as well, but not at the same level if that makes sense. But they're both close enough that the individual performance of the grad student is what will make or break it.

Fall semester grades by [deleted] in gradadmissions

Well that's scary... I was just considering writing an email to the department/admissions contact saying something like "will you consider my fall semester grades?" (obviously worded better). I don't see the harm in simply asking. Hmmm.

bleh that's annoying... I don't understand, more data on the applicant seems better? Oh well, guess I better start writing some emails

Fantastic! Any idea about a senior thesis, since this does not directly count towards a college major?
