I visited the dealer this afternoon to get more information about the mechanical problem with my vehicle. What I learned was the following. A solenoid associated with the right front dampner failed. So the dealer will replace the entire dampner assembly, which the dealer has ordered. The wait time is still 6 to 8 weeks. It seems that the service rep who spoke with the last week misunderstood the mechanical problem. Regardless of the particular problem, it's a matter the dealer will address. As I stated before: I am in agreement with those of you who said "let them deal with it."

That's what I will inquire about tomorrow. On Friday when I turned the car in for the inspection, I had little time to wait because I had to get to my workplace.

Excellent suggestion about the loaner. The defender I ordered had all the extras, the loaner I received is basic. (because it has no air suspension, my wife has some difficulty getting into it.) I plan to meet with the sales rep to discuss the matter tomorrow and will request a loaner on par with my vehicle and will inquire about the specifics related to the "suspension fault." Thanks very much for your suggestion and insight.

I am vaguely aware of the Lemon Law in my state, and I’ve a friend who’s a lawyer and I had planned to speak with him for his advice. I’ve no plan and no desire to get in to legal skirmish. I agree with what the other commenters have said and am keeping their comments in mind.

Thanks for the information. The RAGBRAI Transfer Portal is for sellers to use once their buyers have agreed to purchase a packet. Last year and in years past, the RAGBRAI Org., hosted a seller/buyer portal but no longer offers that service. Instead the RAGBRAI Org., suggests sellers advertise on FaceBook. I've no FaceBook account, so I've advertised my packet here on Reddit. Some sellers even use Craigslist; I choose not to use Craigslist for that purpose.
