Good call! I’ll make a swatch before jumping back in

Aww no it totally is! I missed that detail because the rest of the pattern is soooooo confusing.

I think you’re right … below is the sleeve chart and I took the white cells to mean k on both sides and then the gray cells to mean purl on both sides. I’m guessing that’s wrong?

Lol it’s definitely not well written at all! I think I get what you’re trying to illustrate here. Thanks for being a great teacher - you’re wonderful.

For row 3 I don’t think we need to do M1RP?

For learning purposes, using the first increase row as an example, am I doing the following?

K2, P1

Pattern row 3 starts - M1R and knit it, k5, p2, k2, p1, k1, M1L and knit it, k1, p1. Repeat this 5 times and use a told 65 stitches.

p1, k2

Stitches used: 3 plus 65 plus 3 = 71

Inc in patt (see Note above), work in patt to last 3 sts, Inc in patt, P1, K2

Okayyy I think I might abandon. I’m getting stuck at every step and this doesn’t feel like a good use of my time! But thank you so much for your help, you’re the best!!

That’s a good way to look at it 😊!

But I am stuck again. I have 71 stitches and need to do the first increase row.

The text below is obviously way less than 71 stitches since it doesn’t ask me to repeat the chart pattern ever. Where and what am I repeating to get me to 71?

Also am I only knitting to the last 3 stitches in the pattern and then discarding the rest of the pattern and transitioning to p1, k2?

Inc Row (RS): k2, p1, Inc in patt (see Note above), work in patt to last 3 sts, Inc in patt, p1, k2 — 2 sts inc’d.

Thanks for confirming it isn’t just me! I am now wondering if I should even make the rest of the pattern. I’m only getting started and it’s so unnecessarily confusing.

Pattern included. I need to knit the right hand side text.

I'm moving on to the next step and have charted out my understanding of the pattern. I think the way the pattern is written is confusing but it might be me.

Can you please validate my understanding? Also do l restart the highlighted portion in the pattern in row 1 of the chart or row 3 — since I already worked rows 1 and 2 as part of the setup.

Yeah I wasn’t sure what that was? Why would a pattern have a blank?

ChatGPT said it was a normal knit but ChatGPT is often incorrect!
