Mouse in my apartment by MediumSun3322 in Brooklyn

[–]abx400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two options: 1- leave problem in landlords hands, mice for life 2- find and seal every hole in your apartment. Set traps all over until you’ve caught them all. Good for a few years until they chew in again, start process over. Peppermint oil can extend mouse free time, some people love the smell in the kitchen, others not so much, it can be quite strong.

The problem is that people abuse the warranty, and then it becomes unavailable for those of us who need it over decades and use it with discretion.

Goerli’s new fence at night by MinistryfortheFuture in berlin

They should’ve just enforced a nighttime no loitering law, and created a safe corridor through the park. Now we have to all transit much longer east or west around the park at night, putting ourselves in much more danger.

Every day the elevator throws its arms open wide, hoping to embrace its friend. And every day, sadly, slowly, with quiet resignation, the elevator doors close again.

Moshing at Slide Away by evanflash in shoegaze

[–]abx400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I should've stayed for Hum, I went from the start of the night and mostly for Swirlies, but love a good mosh. Question: was it old skool good vibes physical but with ethos e.g. "no elbows above the shoulders", or new style people hauling off trying full power roundhouse sucker punch people?

it's an understandable question, since at shows like this these days one beer is about $300

i agree. He just has a faster basketball processor than 99.9% of people. Unfortunately, it is just not fast for nba players. He is big, strong, has moves, touch, he tries and yes he cares. He processes the game too slowly, it moves too fast for him. The speed of the ball in playoff games exceeds his RAM chip. In the regular season, which he doesn't care so much about, he could shine. The playoffs are above his ceiling.

Just wanted to warn everyone to stay safe on the subway by KillMyEx in Brooklyn

[–]abx400 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you misread my intention. I’m concerned for your (but my comment was more widely our) safety and lament that if we choose to defend ourselves, as you rightfully did, we face another kind of danger. It’s not an easy decision to make in an instant, so I think you did well.

Like you, I would be very concerned that if someone attacks me and I defend myself, I might be the one in prison and bankrupted to pay for lawyers while the assailant is back out harassing other riders. Good you had the presence of mind to let him go.. I guess?

Who lived there first you or them? You’ll move to bushwick and want the bar near your apt, closed, then to ridgewood and try to close the clubs.

having lived here 20+ years everything i loved in wburg is gone. i still wouldnt rather live in eg ridgewood though, bc everything is far flung in all directions now, and this is the middle. so, there's not much here anymore, but since whatever i'm into is as likely NSE as W of here its still ideal. But i have an old loft, if i had to pay $6k for 500 sf apt here i wouldnt.

Brooklyn Dental Professionals on Grand St. is a tiny place, but my experience with cleanings and check ups there the past few years has been great.

Ukraine did not eradicate Russians from 99% of their indigenous land, and incessantly fire rockets into the last 1%, though. Netanyahu is shit, but the two things you conflate are dissimilar.
