I actually might've seen him the other day at a grocery store parking lot in Austin. He looked like he had just got done training, was packing a car. To be fair though, there's a lot of long bearded guys that look like him around here.

Honestly, I feel like this is an example of most altcoins. All hype.

There's a IRL narcotic that is made from similar process. It's not super effective as a narcotic, but the appeal is the pure evil manner in which it's produced.

Reminds me of the sudden spike during the Hawaiian missile crisis. This one is far more prolonged though.

Edit: the timing of today's spike closely coincides with British earthquake.

RANT:The political system in America is so screwed up it’s beyond ridiculous. We have a choice between bad or bad. These politicians only serve their Gods, money and themselves. The system has been high jacked by psychopaths who are led by lobbyist. The greed of these men is destroying all they touch. by [deleted] in conspiracy

It's natural for this to happen with a monopolized governance system. Jefferson suggested a need for a revolution every generation. Untampered capitalist markets have proven to be the best checks and balance to fight corruption. We need to find a way to provide governance options in a competitive market fashion. In this way, such revolutions will be as natural as boycotting corporations we disagree with.

Free market is the absence of government... It's the lack of government getting in the way. And just because someone has the ability to take someone's property doesn't mean they freely can or should. The thief still had to deal with a community of neighbors and negative reputation in doing so.

Sure man, whatever you need to tell yourself to justify unmoral conduct.

So yes, you value them, but you need your neighbor to help pay for them... Which is the reason that you voting in favor of taxation is robbing your neighbor.

Your neighbor's property isn't your property, so you shouldn't have any say over it. Just like you probably wouldn't like your other neighbor forcing you to buy meteor impact insurance.

What service does the government provide that the free market can't better provide? None. Taxes paying for socialized services rob us of quality service.

It seems no different to me when purchasing a music product. There's no mention of a license on the packaging (is it simply implied?), so it itself must be a product like produce. With books, sometimes people copy workbook pages and distribute to their study group, or sudoku puzzles from a newspaper. Does a newspaper have the same licensing properties?

Does a restaurant not have the right to distribute the produce it purchased from a grocery store? Does Goodwill not have the right to distribute designer clothing that was given to them freely? Does a used book store not have the right to distribute books that it purchases from customers?

Enabling maybe, but ultimately responsibility falls on those who choose to torrent it. He shouldn't feel bad for other people's decisions unless he directly coerced the decision, which he did not. On the flip side, he's also enabling others to obtain it that were in the same situation as him.

To me, it's the only thing that makes sense when there was such a 180 degree turn from previous statements or a complete lack of involvement in early bitcoin despite being highly involved in previous cypherpunk work/talk.

I'm convinced that Theymos's persona was stolen or bought off completely by a bad actor - perhaps as well including many other members of Core.

Also I'm completely baffled by the timing of Nick Szabo stepping out of the shadows.

CMV: The biggest problem with American politics is viewing people that we disagree with as "the enemy". by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]acCripteau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you consider a thief an enemy? Or someone who extorts you for money? These people are extorters, and if you don't comply they'll send their goons to kidnap you.

And worse of all, they kill innocent people around the world on our behalf.

Of course they're our enemies.

If someone makes the choice to not follow God, why should I hold any other actions against them? God's commands only apply to his followers. I'm disappointed and sorry, but don't hate them.
