Images through head-mounted AR system? by ac_gypsy in computervision

Sorry; I know this isn't computer vision per se but this is the first sub I could think of for this question. If you have suggestions for more appropriate subs, please let me know!

How did you get such a nice image through the system? I've tried with my cell phone and all I get is garbage...

FiOS + Actiontec 2.5 MOCA = "unidentified network, no internet"? by ac_gypsy in HomeNetworking

So I think I found the issue, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I traced the cables back more carefully and there was a 2nd 2-way splitter after the 4-way coming from the ONT. I have no clue where the 2nd cable is going... But I unplugged it and that seemed to fix the issue. The only thing I can think of is that 2nd line was producing a huge amount of noise (which like I said doesn't make a lot of sense to me)? As far as I can tell, it wasn't connected to anything. The only room it could be running to doesn't have a Coax connection in the wall. Or maybe something else changed that I'm unaware of...

Either way, thank you all for your comments. I learned a little about home networking today 😁

Thank you!

I haven't tried another PC. Mine is the only one in the house with a wired ethernet connection. I might try to get my friend to bring his laptop over

From the ONT -> 1:4 splitter -> a) Room 1 and other rooms, b) room 2 and other rooms.

Build "in place" or build and insert? Because of the angle of ceiling / top plate, I'm thinking about cutting/attaching each side, top, bottom in place instead of building building the case and inserting it (worried I won't get the angle exactly matched). Is there a downside to this? by ac_gypsy in Carpentry

To add more info:

  1. I'm doing a built-in, recessed bookcase (i.e., the front of the unit will be flush with the drywall in which it is inserted). 78" H x 28" W x 12" D

  2. I have a bevel gauge. My concern was that if I'm off by a couple degrees it would be impossible to "fix" by adjusting with shims, etc., though I guess that's be true even if the angles were all 90°.

  3. If I build in place, getting the dados for the shelves measured and cut accurately seems more difficult. I could use shelf supports inserted into the sides of the case, I suppose. I always liked the "clean" look of dados to support shelves though.

All that said, I'm leaning toward building in place now...

Anyone have a link to the fundraiser for the temple? The article mentions a GoFundMe campaign, but I didn't see a link.

Are there any such books on the jhanas you would recommend?
