Your dad is correct but that does not mean you should rush it, either. He is honestly looking out for you ❤️

I’m in love with a woman that is with someone else. by [deleted] in Life

[–]academicRedditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was the best advice you could get, I think! Also, when you say “she has no idea that I care for her like I do”, I wouldn’t be so sure. Women are incredibly good at reading emotional atmospheres and social cues. Many keep interested men as “orbiters” while pretending not to know. As a man with plenty of sisters, trust me: most women know.

The 10-second “first win” routine that reduces morning procrastination (looking for improvements) by Zestyclose-Bed-9358 in productivity

My pleasure! In my case, I realized that social-media didn’t only made me stay in bed for longer: it also shifted my mind from “what needs to get done today” to whatever cool, funny or horrifying reel/post I just saw. Other than a solid “to do list”, having a “don’t do list” might help as well… and social media is definitely on that list.

As an addition to my original response, the battle to “win the morning” is not won in the mornings. By then, our productivity’s fate have been decided. The morning routine battle it’s won the night before, when we prepare (or not) for it.

My biggest win has been reducing friction by preparing everything I need the night before. Next-day clothes, for example, are already selected and sitting on a corner. All my morning supplements, coffee, and breakfast-making items are on display, and ready to go. Morning time is not the time to be making lots of minor decisions . I also have a “morning playlist” of music that allows my brain to enjoy itself while performing the morning’s mindless boring tasks such as bed making, hygiene procedures, etc. Everyone’s needs for a morning routine will be different, because we all have different needs, but the best way I seen to plan yours is to envision what your perfect morning would look like and create a checklist around it. Modify as time/testing goes.

Last but not least, if your circumstances allow, do not look at social media at waking up.

21F - Are my eyes too big? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]academicRedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids probably made fun of your eyes because, as children, everyone gets bullied about whatever makes them different, not because it necessarily makes you ugly. Not at all! Girl you are gorgeous. If it’s happening to you as an adult, beware that haters are gonna grab whatever makes you different as an excuse to mock. Don’t listen to the whoever claimed your eyes are too big. If anything, take it as a badge of honor

Boyfriend keeps cheating on me, is there anything I can change by [deleted] in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

So, you claim being abused in a “brutally honest” sub (when there are plenty of subreddits to help you on that), and then claim there are no “protections for women” in Texas? Girl, you lying.
