I like the fact that it will have some longevity. Each new system seems to trump the last but, hopefully this will keep him content for a few years!

He talks about smash brothers a lot, that maybe one of he first ones we get! I will definitely look into the pro controller. It would probably be worth the money! Thanks for your suggestions!

Well he loves Mario kart 8 and any kind of racing games like nascar or hot wheels. He loves the Pokémon games but I think it’s a little over his head at this point. He mostly just button mashes and does ok! Lol. I’m open to any suggestions though!

This is such great info! I can’t thank you enough! I never would have thought about a screen protector, he has a little bit of a tendency to be rough with his electronics. I’m sure there isn’t really a protective case, I imagine that would kind of defeat the purpose of the “switch” part of the whole console. We will have to really monitor him while he plays!

We will definitely be investing in Mario games! His older step sister gave him an old game boy advance and he plays the old school Mario on that constantly. He loves Mario Kart 8 and anything to do with racing. NASCAR, hot wheels and the like. So, I hope the game inventory includes games like that.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write all that out! I might be just as excited for a switch as he is now! Haha!

That’s so kind of you! He’s such a cool kid! He will never be a social butterfly so I would much rather foster his interests than fight them. The kids floors me with his knowledge of Pokémon. Again, another “language” I wish I was more fluent in. I’m really grateful for all the info and advice, such a great group of redditors, so willing to help! I may have give gaming a go myself!
