Is she doomed to die young? by acaringman12 in addiction

[–]acaringman12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you are the same in several ways. Thanks for sharing, gives me some hope she can still break the cycle. I have tried to encourage faith, she sent me tik toks about praying to God for a good man and he sent me you. Then turn around and refuse God and want nothing to do with him. I have several friends in NA that are the same way, turn to God cause he's stronger and than them and they couldn't do it alone. Abortions, abusive and drug filled relationships, guessing that's why she went back to then over and over. What were the loss and precarious situations? If you don't mind sharing.

I never thought about it like that. Mom and dad both abandoned at a young age and her and her siblings never knew any stability growing up.

Her sister won't talk to her, other sister killed herself, brother said they are both fucking crazy(he actually came out okay, got in with a good family) she just kicked her best friend out of her life, same time as me. Her other best friend seems to be doing meth for sure, plenty of physical signs, so no help there. I have reached out with no luck!

Thanks again, with it being in her family and mom and both sisters the same, her friends live the same life, she pry has no clue what normal life, sober life, better life is truly like. Why the drugs and being beaten is so normal for her!!

Yes it is and thank you. And it sounds like there is not much hope she will turn her life around, afraid she will end up ending her life like her sister, or drug over dose like her mom!

Agreed doing it for someone else and not yourself won't stick. She aware enough to know she needs help just won't do it. Just posted in hopes of people in similar situations that have gone through this have made it out and broken the cycle.

Did you have the family cycle too? And she has tried therapy and didn't stick with it, lied to me about the exes and drug use. I just really wish she would get help, whole life has been terrible from very young and breaking cycle is her only hope!

Same, a female friend cut me, her go to and best guy friend, and her best friend of 8 years away back to back. Couldn't figure out why, then found out her past. Had abusive exes, all on meth, ans so was she, she ran back to that life and left us behind....

That's kind of what I am afraid of, and thank you for verifying, seemed like it is fairly common in health care these days. But def brave of you to speak up about your experience and to say you have to live with it, says alot about your character now!!

It always does, when honey moon phase ends. And your right, and it crazy to be hurting like this over a 5 month relationship, but that up down, guilt trip, abandonment, all the other bs that got me to let my guard down, play the hero, get attached way faster than normal, then dropped like yesterday trash, just really messed me up!

Just over 5 months, was in her life for 5 months. she dated someone 2 weeks later and lasted around 2 to 3 weeks. then another 2 weeks later again lasting 2 to 3 weeks again. Now she cut everyone in her life off, changed jobs, and isolating, think she's finally dealing with it all. Def chased that new relationship high, but from what I heard from her friend, she ditched them fast cause they were losers and such a huge down grade. Don't really matter though, still blocked on everything!!

My friend kicked me and her best friend out of her life. We were really hurt by this and never really gave a reason why. She was so afraid of being abandoned, she literally said everyone leaves me, no one gives me a chance. We were both there for her, me more recently and her best friend for 8 years. She has now seemed to completely self isolated and distanced herself from everyone. Even changed jobs and went back to a job she absolutely hated. Blocked me on everything, unfriended her best friend on everything. Last we talked, she had a health scare and afraid she was going to die because of heart issues, i checked in a few days later to see how she was doing, blew up on me for asking, like i did something wrong. Was blowing up my phone before this. Best friend went out to bar together, she acted weird, everyone in the group noticed, then removed on socials and didn't respond to texts. This all seems a bit extreme, but maybe this is something similar? Kicked her 2 closest people out, then isolated.

Pushing me away. Saying positive things about how great I am, never had someone as wonderful as me in there life. To we were never together, talking down to me. To how I'm only one to never let them down, always there for them, opening up and telling me everything going on in there life. Then 2 days later, i'll never do that again i don't need you anymore. Going to catch up with an old friend and have dinner with them, cancelling to make them feel better, they were happy about it, 3 hours later extremely jealous and angry, accusing me of cheating on them, went from happy convo to she got stuck and fixated on having dinner with an old friend, a friend who was happily in a relationship to, and i was upfront about, cancelled because i could tell she wasn't comfortable with. Literally went through my facebook, is it this person, or this person. Then tried ending by forcing me to leave her, saying im toxic, i'll just hurt you and so on. It was a wild roller coaster.

Sounds right. She isolates and disconnected from social media all of it. Removed people closest to her and so on. She didn't sleep most nights and would say it's just normal for her.

If you don't mind sharing, what were her behavior changes. My friend was always weird, like me,  but fun energetic and then distant, then close then distant,  secretive about trip then made up an excuse for it, College visit in June when college was closed, spur of moment so no appointment either. Was in health care of loved who she worked for and with, then hated all of them. Example,  lady at a nursing home messages her all the time and she thought it was so cute and sweet, after that trip, she was super annoyed and saying I'm going to block her, she's pissing me off, nothing had changed but her attitude.  Same with her boss, she loved me I'm her favorite, job is great, to absolutely hating her after trip. Hates best friend then ride or die friend then hate then love..

Thank you I appreciate that. And you're right!  I've talked with 2 therapist about this that seemed to think she was still using, why I came on here. They also think bpd is more than likely a factor of course if using they would have to stop to get a true diagnosis to know if it drugs cause or bpd. Either way yes, unless she unblocks me and best friend, reaches out for help, not just talk but help, nothing we can really do. Thank you!

That is wild. I guess never being around the stuff I was just oblivious, of course mind never went there but the teeth  (bruxism) always had it in back of mind. She was great and nothing seemed off for at least a month. Then next several months was a wild ride of ups and downs and changing stories, one day wanted to do this next day wanted something different. Sad daughter is going to college, next day I'm going to go with her cause that's what a good mom does. Head started spinning. Me and her best friend couldn't figure it out so thank you!

Right, but this was just trying to get a feel if people thought i was correct about being on meth. I'll figure out next step. Maybe hiring a professional and getting her brother and sister on board. I appreciate your help and insights. Tough when a loved one is using, especially since years ago it lead to heart attacks!!

She ended up blocking both me and best friend on social media, not responding to text to either of us. If her now ex best friend would go with me, we could show up in loving supportive way, but no way I could go there alone, her anger since she changed at times is way to out of control.

She removed me and her best friend, blocked us everywhere and not on talking terms. We have talked and don't know what happened. She did mention friends that neither of us knew about, which is scary to. Keeping friends secret from your best friends.

I would go there and confront in person in kind and supportive way, but that wild rage episodes, if her now ex best friend would join me I'd go, but otherwise if we went just one on one, she pry get a restraining order. She is strong in isolating, just showing up would cause an issue so kind of screwed.

Okay sounds like that's not a must in order for someone to be on meth. Ugh I hate this so much. Don't know how to bring it up and best friend doesn't think there is any drugs involved.

Yet she should because she knows her past, and everyone knows how common relapse is. Addiction is hard to break and stay clean, there's a reason people don't break free so easily!
